There are a number of individuals who have risen to prominence within New Eden but whose names or real identities remain unknown:
Contents
Amarr
- Norid's rival is an Amarr Holder. He was a member of Ardishapur's court. He disgraced Norid and eventually purchased the former Holder after he had been made a slave. His son is deceased. Norid sabotaged his clone and replaced it with a clone of his son in order to disgrace him.[1]
- The boy is an Amarr who lived on a temperate planet. He has a slaver hound named Jecal who is essentially his personal guardian. His father is an important and powerful slave owner. He enjoys running around through the corn fields unsupervised. He encounters a group of slaves in the fields following an incident. Though two of the slaves depart, one attempts to kill him with a knife. He is saved by Jecal, then takes the knife's sheath and returns to his manor somewhat disturbed by what happened.[2]
- A trio of slaves who live on the boy's planet. The three are found drinking in a corn field. They are described as having dark skin and are likely Brutors. Two start to attack the boy, but the third stops one of them. Those two depart, fearing reprisal from the slave owner, but the third goes through with his attempt to kill the boy. The slave unwraps a knife hidden in a silk cloth. As he advances on the boy, he is crying profusely. Before he can attack, the boy's pet slaver hound attacks him and kills him.[2]
- The three slaves who were Drupar Maak's cohorts.[3]
- The two Amarr who worked for Arkon Ardishapur.[3]
- Aritcio Kor-Azor's military advisor was a thin man in tight-fitting clothes with a tight-fitting face. He indulged Aritcio's insane judgments without complaint. When Brother Joshua decreed that Aritcio was to be killed for his crimes, the military advisor was the one who convinced the Speaker to allow Aritcio to be cut to pieces and then allowed to heal. During the process he watched with disinterest, only informing the medical personnel that they had best ensure Aritcio remain alive, no matter what.[4]
- Aritcio Kor-Azor's religious advisor, a prim woman who had her hair tied into a bun. She indulged his insane judgements without complaint. She confirmed that Brother Joshua's proclamations were valid. She watched his punishment dispassionately.[4]
- The surgeon who performed Aritcio Kor-Azor's punishment treated it similar to a medical instruction, explaining the process as he went.[4]
- The mercenary leader. He was apparently quite competent and passed strict background checks. He was hired to blow up several churches in a backward Amarr settlement in an attempt to get the natives to leave a mineral rich valley so it could be mined out by a Minmatar corporation. While traveling over land to the valley, the narrator and the other mercenaries discovered that the natives belonged to a cult with Sani Sabik influences. Rather than proceed with caution, the mercenaries become excessively brave, believing their superior technology would keep them safe. However, they were captured in a net and knocked unconscious. The narrator and his fellow mercenaries were then tied to stakes and stripped naked for a sermon, where each was offered a chalice of blood. The narrator was disgusted and refuses, while his compatriot Chalmers spat at the priest and struggled to escape. Chalmers was drained of blood as a consequence, while the narrator was allowed to sit tied to the stake until he passed out. Later, he was taken to a large, underground cavern that served as the home of the cultists. He expected that he would be offered a chance to drink Chalmers's blood and join the cult or be left to die slowly from poisoning.[5]
- The priest is part of a backward Amarr society that exists in stone age-like conditions. He leads a congregation of a Sani Sabik-inspired cult. While most of his followers have visibly black veins, signs of poisoning from the toxic minerals in the valley they live in, the priest is healthy. His offers his followers drinks of blood from a chalice, and at one point attempted to do the same to a group of mercenaries the cult captured. The mercenaries all refused and one spat him and struggles. He reacted stoically and had the mercenary, Chalmers, taken to a machine to be drained of blood. Later, he offers Chalmers's blood to the remaining mercenaries in an attempt to have them join the cult.[5]
- The planetary governor was an Amarr Holder and the overseer of an entire planet in the Kor-Azor domain. He is was petty, audacious man who was staunchly opposed to change in his regime, had many political connections and viewed his position as governor safe, despite the opposition of Aritcio Kor-Azor. When meeting with Aritcio, he showed extreme disrespect, such as arriving with no entourage and refusing to even consider the Heir's requests. Aritcio calmly told the governor he understood his position, having recently had a similar mindset himself, then beat the governor to death with a Khumaak. Afterward, Aritcio covered up the governor's death by claiming his planetary vehicle had crashed into the ocean before the two had ever met.[6]
- A female guard is among those who had the task of supporting Dochuta Karsoth's immense weight during his meeting with Empress Jamyl I prior to his execution. The guard has pale skin and red hair. She had to lean against his sternum, where his heart would be. After getting Karsoth to his feet, she was allowed to go wash her hands.[7]
- A slave accused of theft is punished by an overseer. Some onlookers are upset, others horrified, and others eager for more.[8]
- A slave overseer punishes a slave. He apparently has special tools for the job. It goes on for some time.[8]
- The Uncle is an elderly Minmatar slave who serves as the intermediary on A'Beef. He introduces the children's shows to them and also announces the winners of the Lottery. He is old and has the edge of a Voluval tattoo showing from beneath his clothes.[9]
- The Amarr captain believes that the Amarr Navy cannot hope to take the fight to the Minmatar after the destruction and chaos sewed by the Elder Fleet.[10]
Minmatar
- A prisoner on the Minmatar prison planet who is assaulted by Prisoner 47 with a plate. The prisoner is one of the “ghosts” who does not show any emotion toward his predicament. As he lies beaten, he smiles and says “hail to the king”, which starts Prisoner 47 on his path to discovering the King.[11]
- A prisoner on the Minmatar prison planet who is one of the “ghosts” of Prisoner 47. After Prisoner 47 beats him behind a shack, he tells him where to find the King.[11]
- Beliah's mother. A Daughter of the Revolution, Beliah's mother was raised by a foster family and was luckier than most. She still has emotional scars that lead her to harbor a distrust of her own people. After running away from her foster family she tracked down a woman who used to work for her them and used her life savings to get the three of them off planet and on to a station. This other woman became Beliah's Surrogate Grandmother, Gran, who describes Beliah's mother as 'a hard worker' but 'no master at personal relations.' She is divorced and dating an Amarrian while putting Beliah through school and taking care of Gran.[12]
- Beliah's father. By all accounts not a bad man. He lost his temper a few times giving Beliah's mother all the excuse she needed to run from him, in the same fashion that Beliah feels she has always run from her people.[12]
- Gran is an out-spoken and resourceful woman, and the surrogate grandmother of Beliah. She was employed by the family who adopted Beliah's mother. Years later, Beliah's mother sought her out and moved her and Beliah to the station where they currently reside. Having lived through the rebellion and the dark times that followed, she has a very enlightened view of both rebellion, and of the trials faced by those who come after one. She has formed a close attachment to Beliah's mother, and to Beliah who she calls 'Little Bird.' At one point Gran tracked Beliah down through various friends until she found her on the roof of their building, after Beliah and her mother had had a fight about her mother dating an Amarrian. She explained to Beliah everything her mother had gone through and why she felt the way she did about her own people. [12]
- Bryld's father is a starship engineer. He is attempting to design a device called a wireframe hulk. The wireframe hulk is based on the same principle as ChromIts and is designed to hold a damaged spaceship together so it does not fall apart when being towed.[13]
- The Ruhste dancer is a Minmatar street performer who dances on a mat on the beaches of Matar for money. At one point he was berated by Sadrede Svarg, who viewed his tribal expressions as dangerous and inflammatory. The dancer merely laughed at Svarg and said that nothing Svarg did helps the Minmatar, either.[13]
- The Minmatar captain suggests putting the capsuleers in lowsec systems, where they can fight over valuable resources and protect people the Navies cannot.[10]
- A female Vherokior capsuleer appears to be the leader of a Sani Sabik drug den at the bottom of the Jita 4-4 station. She sells boosters and regularly uses them herself, and seems to particularly enjoy Mindflood. She can tell a visitor used to be a member of the Blood Raiders by his look. At one point she gave a capsuleer visitor a free sample of Synth Blue Pill and then took him into their lounge, where they got high and discussed C3.[14]
- A Nefantar terrorist lives in the Ammatar Mandate. He was born among the Ammatar, but has always identified himself as a Minmatar. He was taught that his tribe were race traitors to the Minmatar, but he found that difficult to believe and searched for the truth. He discovered it in the Starkmanir, but realized such knowledge could not be spread. When the Elder Fleet came, he stayed behind, believing that the entirety of the Mandate would soon rise in rebellion and rejoin the Minmatar. However, he knew that people could not rebel when they were fighting just to survive, so he helped with the clean up. When Yonis Ardishapur came, he believed it would push the populace to rebellion. However, Ardishapur proved more cunning than he anticipated and won the populace over by improving their situation and repairing infrastructure. With a content Mandate and Ammatar accepting of their Amarr masters, he became a terrorist. He has numerous underlings who help him build explosives. One, a woman, apparently left his group, which has wounded him deeply, and he planned to target her neighborhood first.[15]
- An unnamed Thukker captain willfully follows Kotan in pursuit of a Blood Raider force.[16]
Caldari
- Ambassador Rileau’s bodyguards, who were knocked out by the Rabbit’s sleeping gas trap.[17]
- The crew head on board Silat Enfour's ship, the Arc of Defiance, is noted as a man who doesn't waste time during missions. After extracting a confession from Parien, Enfour sent a copy of the conversation to the crew head. Enfour noted the man was probably already gathering crew to take revenge on Parien.[18]
- Unidentified Navy technical team that establishes a listening post on YBH-349 after suffering heavy losses en route. Presumed killed or captured by Gallente marines, November YC111.[19]
- Unidentified guard at forge/mining complex somewhere in Caldari space. He was part of a conspiracy to start a labor uprising, and executed Antel when the latter attempted to betray the conspiracy.[20]
- Unidentified friend of Antel and Foraani, miner at forge/mining complex somewhere in Caldari space. Killed in collapse of mine.[20]
- The capsuleer of the ship Lazar is on board is described as kooky, but treats his crew well. He does not ration food and provides for his crew's every need. He does forbid mirrors on his ship and does not allow new recruits to bring any personal belongings. He pays his crew in ISK. The capsuleer apparently forces his crew to undergo a process where their faces are eventually changed to look identical to his own. He explained this to Lazar by claiming, “We are all the same here. We all live this same life. Forever.”[21]
- The Caldari captain views fighting over lowsec to be running away, but is convinced by his admiral that it will lead to the eventual conquest of Luminaire.[10]
- This unnamed Caldari general’s record in Caldari space is pristine, but the Gallente know of the many atrocities he committed against them. Upon retirement in a backwater low-sec system as per his request, he insulated himself by enlisting the commoners around him to build bunkers in their basements. Unbeknownst to them, all of the bunkers are rigged with poison gas set to go off if any of the bunkers are opened.[22]
- This man represents one of the smaller mega-corporations in the Caldari State. His corporation had neither the money to bid on recently conquered systems being put up for auction, nor the resources to police one if they did. He was invited to a very secret meeting where he was offered money a Gallente man to make a proxy bid on Intaki in exchange for being granted shipping rights while a third man's people would police it. He dislikes gate travel and feels jump drives are worse and so arrived at the meeting in a Widow.[23]
- While of Caldari descent, who this businessman represents is unclear. He was invited to a meeting where a Gallente man offered a Caldari mega-corp money to make a bid on Intaki when it came up for auction within the State. His part in the deal is that they would be given a financial contribution as well, and would be responsible for policing the Intaki system. He arrives at the meeting in a Proteus.[23]
- A corporate man who was tempted by some vague notion of profit to steal some documents. Undecided as to what to do with them and still considering giving them back, he was arrested and interrogated. Eventually set free, a small scar behind his ear is the only physical scar but, being dishonored makes him unemployable. His family deserts him, his friends ignore him, even strangers sometimes give him odd looks. His life-savings were left intact, and he is given a monthly pension. He believes his interrogators placed something in his head that projects images onto his optic nerve when he blinks.[24]
- A former friend of a man who was interrogated. This man also was interrogated, and now possesses the same small scar behind his ear. He flinches when he blinks.[24]
- An un-named Wiyrkomi agent, a Deteis man who is rumored to have good connections to some top-level people in the Caldari corporate structure, hires Runia Tamarik to track down the ship belonging to another Khanid.[25]
- There is an unnamed capsuleer Tibus Heth's Home Guard detachment was guarding. He is described as having dark hair, and a nondescript face and probably Civire. He has a confrontation with another man who dies during it due to an unknown cause and is rushed away from the scene by the Home Guard.[26]
- There is an unnamed Caldari Provist who is granted the dubious honor of conveying a communications monitor to the palace of exiled CEO Haatakan Oiritsuu so that Tibus Heth may have a conversation with Haatakan. She previously escorted Haatakan to the palace, and Haatakan remembers the Provist’s unkind words to her at their last meeting. At the conclusion of the conversation with Tibus Heth, Haatakan conceals her garden knife in her hand with intent to ‘beautify’ the Provist in much the same way Haatakan beautifies the flowers in her greenhouse, and subsequently add the remains to a compost heap so that future generations of flowers in the greenhouse will have nourishment.[27]
Gallente
- King Khanid II’s personal slave is a former Gallente pop-singer.[28]
- The Gallente captain believes that tensions are too high in Luminaire and if any fighting is done there, it will end with all the system's planets reduced to uninhabitable wrecks. He suggests putting the capsuleer militias a long way away.[10]
- A Jin-Mei female who is privy to the CreoDron Board meeting dealing with Anoikis. She has little respect for boardroom etiquette, believing the fastest route to the truth is a straight line.[29]
- Wounded in the failed defense of Caldari Prime, he found refuge in a place that turned out to be a child's hiding place. The child, Keeler, promises not to give away the man's location. The soldier is later captured and it is reported he was a murderer responsible for the deaths of many Gallente and Caldari.[30]
- This man held a meeting between two other un-named men after it was announced that Tibus Heth would be auctioning off the rights to recently conquered Gallente systems. He attempts to orchestrate a deal by which he would front the money to one man, representing a Caldari mega-corporation who would get shipping rights in the Intaki system, and the other would get to police the shipping lanes. This man offers the deal as a way of protecting Intaki. He does business with capsuleers, normally dislikes extra security measures at business meetings and once won a Rattlesnake off The Rabbit.[23]
- Serving under Grand Admiral Eturrer who was to become known as the Great Traitor, this lieutenant stayed loyal to the Admiral. He hid in Kador space under the protection of Uriam Kador himself.[31]
- Keeler's dad is a Gallente on Caldari Prime. His primary concern is putting food on the table and he is determined to make the best of Caldari occupation. He argues with his wife, who fears for the worst.[30]
- Keeler's mom is a Gallente woman on Caldari Prime who fears for the future under the Caldari. She argues with her husband, who she thinks is blind to the threat.[30]
- The Intaki Reporter was a person sent to speak to Ambassador Duran Ricard. Ambassador Ricard gave him a tour and presentation of the Crystal Boulevard in Caille.[32]
- There is an unnamed Gallente citizen on a Gallente world occupied by the Caldari during YC111. As a member of the marginalized working class, a “low-level facilitator,” he rises to a high level position in the Caldari occupational government of his home colony through a vaguely-described campaign of propaganda and subversion. Over the course of his career, he appears to embrace the Caldari ideal of the meritocracy, with some regret at the personal price.[33]
Unknown empire
- An un-named Captain. His ship picked up a signature at the EVE Gate that matched one the Sisters of EVE had on file from the battle between the Amarr and the Elder fleet. He and his crew then followed that ship to Jamyl Sarum's Court using experimental data known only to him and his crew. They then followed this signal to a gigantic Rogue Drone hive that seemed to cloak the ship and harvest Isogen-5. He recognized the political implications of announcing the discovery and enlisted his officer's opinions. Their decision to attempt communicating with the Rogue Drones resulted in the destruction of the ship and crew.[34]
- The old man is an inhabitant of a space-based colony that is somewhat near Sansha space. He suffers from rheumatism and has an ocular implant to correct a disease with his vision. Every day he goes to a local cafe where he reads the news and eats breakfast. During late autumn, under the approaching winter, he began to experience problems with his vision. First, he saw a halo around his waitress, Joraa, that was likened to her appearing like a star. Soon his vision issues extended to others as well, eventually spreading over everyone's bodies. The medical AI he visited was unable to find any physical problems with him and, despite assuming the problem stemmed from a malfunction with his ocular implant, was unable to find any defect. The AI refused to schedule a repair or replacement without knowing what is wrong, so the old man suffered along, even as people began to grow transparent. He believed his implant was incorrectly recording people and filling in with cached background images. One day, he randomly encountered three individuals from his past whom he had never expected to see again. The first was a former apprentice, Roten; the second was an old friend, Fermar; the third is another old friend, Charlize. By the time Charlize appeared, he suspected he was seeing ghosts. Joraa noted that he is talking to himself. When he later tried to get her attention, she did not seem to notice him.[35]
- The researcher studies a phenomenon he calls the extinction burst. The phenomenon supposedly is the tendency for animals to repeat habitual behaviors in an increasingly frantic manner even as those habits become detrimental to survival. He studies it by placing animals in a maze that has many individual rooms. The rooms all have simple puzzles that must be solved in order to progress or be given some small reward. As the maze continues, the puzzles become more difficult. Eventually, the maze selects a room where the puzzle is not completable despite the obvious solution. So far, the researcher has tested on Hanging-Long Limbs, Charisocos, Slavers, and apparently humans.[36]
- Karin's rescuer was, in her opinion, a CONCORD affiliate. From Neral's hints, it seems more likely it is a Sisters of EVE party.[37]
- A capsuleer who was once a high-ranking member of his corporation was ejected from power by his former friends. He believed they betrayed him, especially one specific person who he had shared many intimate details with. The capsuleer joined up with a group of new friends and ambushed his old corp in a nulsec system using recon ships during a mining op. Before it began, he noted a particular disgust at having to reload guns in the middle of a fight.[38]
- One capsuleer traveled to Jita 4-4 for an assassination mission, though he got sidetracked on the way. A few decades prior, he had served with the Blood Raiders for 5 years, but not drank blood nor considered himself a real Sani Sabik cultist. He had once worked for a cloning company before they discovered he was pod-capable. He had joined in the second wave of capsuleers, in YC 106, because joining in the first wave would have beentoo noticeable and suspicious. At some point, he became addicted to stims, and said he'd forgotten how to sleep. He'd been up for three days without sleep when he arrived on Jita 4-4. Supposedly he was there to assassinate someone. He ate at QuafeSnacks and then descended into the depths of the station, to get a supply of C3. While there, a tone was played through invisible speakers that only he, as a capsuleer, was capable of decoding and understanding. It led him to a female Vherokior capsuleer and drug dealer who was also a Sani Sabik cultist. He took a Synth Blue Pill offered by her and they lounged in a room while feeling the high. They discussed what C3 does for a person. He also considered to himself the prospect of an infomorph, a capsuleer who has become wholly data.[14]
- The capsuleer who responded to Adek's distress call began to destroy the mining colony, presumably to take the cargo for himself..[39]
- One pirate survived Adek's trap in the Pits and chased after him. He was cutting his way into the room with Adek when the capsuleer's attack began.[39]
- The capsuleer who attacked Victor Sistre is part of the Jaasinen Inc. corporation. He flies Caldari frigates.[40]
- Beth's husband used to be a miner until he was injured by Kanen. When Kanen returned to work he was still in the hospital and suffering from brain damage.[41]
- An unnamed editor arranged to get the Seyllin story out before the Black Eagles apprehended him.[42]
- An unnamed intern was given flash priority clearance by an unnamed editor in order to get the Seyllin story out.[42]
- Known only as 'The Pilot' to his crew, this capsuleer evokes fierce loyalty. Rescued from the aftermath of battles and presumed dead by those that knew them, their feelings of family and belonging keep them from going back to their own lives.[43]
- This pilot was involved in the evacuation of Seyllin I. He went back a couple times, ejecting his weapons to be able to fit more people into his ship.[42]
- An unnamed scientist was called in to report the discovery of wormholes to the leaders of the Federation's leaders, and was very nervous about doing so.[42]
- An unnamed capsuleer became a part of Braea's retinue after making an exceptional donation to her and Gerets.[44]
- An assassin was an unidentified individual who apparently caused the death of Senator Papadour using a DNA poison. He evaded identification by posing as Pend Insurance chairman Pier Ancru, either somehow using one of Ancru's jump clones or employing some other method to look like the man.[45]
- An usher was part of Fermar's skeleton crew. [46]
- An unknown pilot on a mission to locate and observe the behavior of a capsuleer, Case Omnicron. After Case encounters the wreck of a cargo ship and loots it, the pilot renders Case unconscious in his pod and then stands guard while his unidentified partner remotely adjusts the alignment of Case’s behavioral pattern.[47]
- An unknown pilot accompanies his partner on a mission to locate and observe the behavior of a capsuleer, Case Omnicron. After Case encounters the wreck of a cargo ship and loots it, the pilot’s partner renders Case unconscious in his pod so that the pilot can remotely perform a procedure to adjust the alignment of Case’s behavioral pattern.[47]
- An unnamed mechanic tours several times over many years on various ships which run afoul of bad luck regarding mechanical breakdowns. The regular onboard maintenance crews cannot resolve the problems, so a man named Eren, who is highly sought after due to his abilities as a psychomancer, is called in to help. Despite only laying out tools for Eren and otherwise having no direct contact with him at their first encounter, each subsequent encounter takes place because Eren specifically requests an assistant who not only has extensive mechanical experience but has worked with Eren before.[48]
- This unnamed capsuleer appeared to be no different than Braea's other assistants, with a skin patch and hood to hide his cranial socket. He contributed to the funds the Federation had ear-marked for Gerets' operation so that he could be close to the media circus surrounding the couple. His contribution was ten times what the Federation had set aside and was due to be released immediately. He owns one whole floor in one of the tallest buildings on the station where he lives and it is serviced by a private elevator with one-way glass. The entry way is a third of the length of the building with touch-sensitive pads in the floor that leave heat-signature footprints. Leather and wood furniture, both rare on stations, decorate the room along with holographic paintings. He has a desire to help both Gerets and Braea for unknown reasons.[44]
Pirates and non-Empire people
- A Sisters of EVE member who took care of recruitment for one of the Sister faction teams looking for the Book of Emptiness - a mind-expanding machine whose name derived from a mythical Amarr object with similar properties. This involved showing Nale a mechanical box whose contents were derived from the same machine.[49]
- Several team mates of Nale's original scouting team with the Sisters of EVE as they hunted for the Book of Emptiness machine parts.[49]
- An unnamed pirate was murdered on a mining colony by Atira Malkaanen and her partner Caleb after he stalked, threatened, and provoked a fight with Atira. His body was disposed of in the colony’s incinerator, though Atira kept his dog tags.[50]
- There is an unnamed member of The Furies whose death was ruled an accident, though some imply it was not entirely accidental.[51]
