Ladar Sites are either hidden gas clouds or booster production facilities which use the materials found within these nebulae. Due to variations in the composition of the gasses within them, nebulae tend to absorb and emit specific frequencies in the spectra of light. By analyzing the visible spectrum of light in a star system's sky and comparing the results against known spectral profiles, scanner probes allow explorers to identify and pinpoint concentrations of specific gasses. Once a ship has warped to a Ladar signature, the gasses at the site will disperse after three days. Useful nebulae commonly sought after in New Eden often contain traces of crystalline compounds used in booster production.
Locations
Certain sites may only be found in regions where the associated faction maintains a presence. These regions are as follows:
Wormhole Space
Wormhole space (a.k.a. Anoikis) contains uniquely abundant supplies of fullerene laced gas clouds. Far from being used for booster production, fullerenes are used in the prodution of Tech 3 ships and subsystems. It has been shown that a single wave of Sleeper Drones will defend a Ladar site in w-space, warping in after about 25 minutes from the first arrival at the site. Like Gravimetric Sites in w-space, all "Perimeter" Ladar sites have 10.0% signature strength, all "Frontier" Ladar sites have 5.0% signature strength, all "Core" Ladar sites have 2.5% signature strength.

x - There are indications that some types of sites do not appear in certain classes. Three months of data from several Class 1 systems have shown only "Barren", "Token", "Minor", "Sizeable", and "Ordinary" Perimeter sites. Those sites marked with an 'x' have not been confirmed, while those marked with a signature strength have. Nevertheless, all "Perimeter" ladar sites have 10.0% signature strength, all "Frontier" ladar sites have 5.0% signature strength, all "Core" ladar sites have 2.5% signature strength. If you can confirm the existence of a certain site in a particular class, please feel free to contribute. |
