Wormhole Signature Strength List

From Backstage Lore Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

The following resource lists the bands in which each type of wormhole appears. Pilots who know the possible wormholes which may appear in the system they are currently scouting, can speed their search for exits. Remember, only certain static wormholes will be possible, depending on what constellation the wormhole system lies within, thus, the other statics may be discounted (see List of All W-Space Systems):

*Publication on psudo-statics to come soon... until then, see this post.
**I suspect there was an error in the original data or the signature strengths have changed:
all wormholes in the 1/80 band should probably be in the newly discovered 1/45 band.
***M267 should probably be in the 1/20 band and E175 in the 1/25 band
****B041 might not form in high sec or is exceedingly rare: see Project Snapshot
This is a product of Project Atlas.

Some helpful hints for scanning these bands in Anoikis:
Class 1, 3, 5, and 6 wormhole systems have one static wormhole which is native to that system, and these systems may also see a number of wandering wormholes within various bands.
Class 2 systems have two static wormholes, one to k-space and one to w-space, the combination of which depends on which constellation they belong to. (see List of All W-Space Systems: Class 2 Wormhole Systems)
Class 2 and 4 systems have only static wormholes and K162s.
All classes of wormholes will see many K162s which are always in the 1/10 band.
Keep in mind, that a given system will only commonly see one static type, but from time to time an "extra" static type wormhole might appear (these are currently under study by Project Atlas and are theorized to be Constellation Statics).

Wormhole Attributes

The following charts contain indexing information for navigating wormhole probability space. These charts are constructed using detailed wormhole position data from Project Compass, w-space system/constellation/region information recorded by Brawyn78 at his datacore before the information became unreadable through the NeoCom (note: this information is once again available in the NeoCom), and wormhole signature strength and general location data gathered and shared by Elisa Fir. Note, these data are not yet complete some wormholes have never been seen to my knowledge (lifetime and mass data for undocumented wormholes is constructed from theoretical models and experimental verification may be required). Wandering (a.k.a. "periodic") wormhole counts come from Project Snapshot data.

note: mass/jump = total mass in gigagrams (Gg) that can pass through wormhole at once (limits ship size able to enter various sectors of space; it's possible that CONCORD's anti cap ship technology may be having an effect on wormholes, further study needed), max mass = maximum amount of mass that can pass through before wormhole collapse, and sig str = base signature strength (used for scanning)
note also: class 1 allows only 20,000,000 kg per passage, restricting ships to battlecruiser or smaller; it is possible that something similar to CONCORD anti cap ship tech is influencing wormholes in class 1 space, further study needed.
note also: wormholes marked with a ? or a ** in their "Departs from" field have not been sighted and require confirmation.
further note: constellation statics not included in "Total Counts" field due to lack of data on these wormholes.
* null sec not including jove/ccp space
^also note that the odds of finding a wormhole in null sec can be influenced by the Quantum Flux Generator infrastructure upgrade.
** these wormholes do not bridge from or to high sec, class 1, 2, 3, or 4 space, judging by mass allowances (high sec, class 1, 2, 3, and 4 do not allow more than 1,000,000,000 kg per passage, i.e. no dreadnaught or higher).
