Norid

Norid is a former Holder in the court of the Ardishapur Family. He and his family were stripped of title, property, and privileged following a protracted political battle with an unnamed rival Holder. Norid and his family were sold into slavery; Norid's wife and child died from the strain, but Norid survived and swore vengeance.

At some point, Norid managed to destroy the luxury yacht carrying his rival's son. The son survives in suspended animation onboard the wreck of the yacht. Eventually, Norid is purchased by his rival, who no longer recognizes Norid but wants the prestige of owning a former Holder as a slave. When his rival's clone is destroyed, Norid hires Bix Arramida to recover the bodies on the yacht and take them to a cloning facility in Rethan. Norid arranges for the son's body to be used as the new body to clone his master into then plots to kill him, have him clone into his son's body, and then usurp his power. [1]
