Like the previous mission in the chain, this mission is intimidating. Upon warp in, there is a veritable fleet (1 carrier, 8 battleships, lots of battle/cruisers, and numerous frigates). This was after all ships had been destroyed in the previous mission. If they need to be warp scrambled, only those ships with warp scramble range bonuses beyond those on interceptors (such as the malediction) will be needed to prevent a warp out. The information below actually describes the next mission in the arc...Goading the Leader. The Uses of Force is a Talk to Agent mission.
Like the previous mission in the chain, this mission is intimidating. Upon warp in, there is a veritable fleet (1 carrier, 8 battleships, lots of battle/cruisers, and numerous frigates). This was after all ships had been destroyed in the previous mission. The ships begin warping out within seconds of arrival, however, and it is unclear if they can be approached or engaged to stop them from warping out, or if they have to be warp scrambled to stop the egress. If they need to be warp scrambled, only those ships with warp scramble range bonuses beyond those on interceptors (such as the malediction) will be needed to prevent a warp out. This speculation is unnecessary to complete the mission, however.
Upon warp in, the fleet is spotted about 45 to 60km away from your position, and begin warping out in seconds. Because of the size, it is somewhat intimidating, and many players (especially those in frigates, destroyers, assault frigates and cruisers) will be disinclined to draw closer until the coast is clear. Once all ships have warped away, the pilot can then draw closer to the auxiliary array (the objective). At 30km, 4 griffin frigates will spawn and engage. At 20km, 3 more griffin frigates, and a celestis cruiser spawn and engage. It is presently unknown if it is necessary to kill these ships, or if they spawn by firing on the auxiliary array without moving, as the present pilot did move to engage, and did eliminate all enemies before destroying the array. Once the array is down, the agent contacts the pilot with the information the mission has been completed successfully.
If anyone has managed to catch and engage the initial fleet before it warped out, please let Letheeth Kayl know via ingame Evemail.
