*: Both T1 and T2 variants are allowed. Strategic cruisers' behavior with respect to DED complexes is unknown by your author.

Note that there's also a small chance of faction ship BPCs of the type of the complex (i.e., 1-3 = faction frigate, 4-6 = faction cruiser, 7-10 = faction BS) in the final overseer's cargo (confirmed by your author), faction item drops (confirmed by your author), and officer spawns occurring (possibly apocryphal).

A faction drop is easily identifiable based on the prefix in the name of the item. For example, Angels drop faction items with "Domination" as the prefix in the item name, such as the Domination 10MN Afterburner. The Blood Raiders drop faction items with the prefix "Dark Blood"; the Guristas faction items use the prefix "Dread Guristas"; Sansha's Nation's faction items use the prefix "True Sansha"; and the Serpentis faction items use the prefix "Shadow Serpentis".

These faction items tend to have significant meta values, and tend to drop from overseers or other named NPCs within the complex.

The number of faction drops for each run of a DED complex can vary, from zero items to three or more. A given run of a complex will never drop more than one of a single item, however (so a 100MN AB and 100MN MWD might drop together, but two 100MN MWDs would not).

For simplicity in comparing and evaluating deadspace items, there is a mapping between deadspace items and officer gear:

Deadspace Loot⇔Officer Equivalencies
Deadspace Loot Type Angel
(Domination)
Blood
(Dark Blood)
Guristas
(Dread Guristas)
Sansha
(True Sansha)
Serpentis
(Shadow Serpentis)
C-Type Mizuro Cybon Tairei Namazoth Kaikka Peunato Brokara Ryver Brynn Jerdola
B-Type Hakim Stormare Selynne Mardakar Thon Eney Raysere Giant Tuvan Orth
A-Type Gotan Kreiss Ahremen Arkah Vepas Minimala Vizan Ankonin Setele Schellan
X-Type Tobias Kruzhor Draclira Merlonne Estamel Tharchon Chelm Soran Cormack Vaaja

It is, however, worth noting that not all items have an exact equivalent. For example, while each of the Angel/Domination officers has a stasis webifier, no equivalent deadspace module exists. Similarly, officers drop only the large size of armor repairers and shield boosters, so there is not, for example, a "Vepas' Modified Small Shield Booster" to go along with the Pithi A-Type Small Shield Booster. Occasions also exist, such as with Domination officer shield boost amplifiers and Angel deadspace boost amps, where these relationships don't line up correctly, but such instances are widely regarded as bugs. One last note: when both exist (see deadspace nosferatu for one case where they don't), Sansha officer/deadspace items and Blood officer/deadspace modules are exactly interchangeable with one another.
