The Mannar are one of the four founding races of the Gallente Federation alongside the Intaki, Caldari and of course the Gallente. Their home system, Mannar is located in the Everyshore region of the Federation. Their first contact with the Gallente was made 15 years after the Gallente-Intaki first contact [1] and today they are spread far and wide though Federation systems.

Many modern Mannar associate with the Hawk political bloc of Federation politics, a group that advocates nationalistic attitudes and a militaristic approach to foreign policy.[2]

Status of the Mannar in EVE Fiction

Although the Mannar have existed in the Eve storyline since the beginning, extremely little has been published about them to date by the fiction writers at CCP. They are the only founding group of the Federation that is not a playable bloodline - when the third group of racial bloodlines were introduced to the game, CCP introduced the Jin Mei, rather than the Mannar. The Mannar do occasionally appear in fiction and news stories. The Spirit of Crielere short story refers to them as a "stubborn" people.

Notably, early FAQs and Q&As for EVE noted that there would be four playable bloodlines per nation. Among veterans who still date from this time, it's assumed that the Mannar were planned as a playable bloodline during the earlier parts of development, but were scrapped and/or backburnered as development dragged out somewhat during 2002 and 2003. Given the relatively low importance of bloodline choice in the modern game, it seems unlikely that the Mannar will be added to the game as a playable bloodline any time soon.
