DED Complexes are sites in space which are often hidden, requiring scanner probes to be located. Although some of these sites were once marked by CONCORD warp beacons, all are now found exclusively by exploration. Occasionally, these sites can be located from clues found by the escalation of a Cosmic Anomaly. Typically though, DED-Rated Complexes, like most other Cosmic Signatures, must be found in a system by scanning them down with scanner probes. In the scanner interface, DED Complexes will appear in the "Group" column as "Unknown" signatures when scanned above 25% signal strength. Pirate Overseers are commonly found in these sites and their Personal Effects may be sold to Empire factions and CONCORD as a reward for law enforcement.

* The 6/10 Angel Pirates/Serpentis corporation complexes do not exist as such. However, the Angel Mineral Acquisition Outpost and Serpentis Logistical Outpost are regarded by CCP as the complexes intended to fill their spot;
