User has D-link router and the server shows as being down

I have an active internet connection and a d-link router, and the main server is inaccessible

There have been a few cases where some types of D-link routers are unable to connect to the server, and the server status is shown as "Server down". A possible solution is to enable the "DHCP client" option on the machine that runs the client. This is done by opening the "control panel" and double clicking on the "Administrative tools" icon. From there, open the "Services" window by double clicking on the icon, find the option called "DHCP client" and make sure that it is enabled by looking at its "Status". If the status is "Enabled" the service is enabled. Also, having the "Startup type" set to automatic is recommended.

Please note: If you don't know what the other services do, don´t change their status, as these options directly affect the performance of your computer.

If this solution does not work then we recommend you try to bypass the router. If that works then the problem is clearly with the router, in which case we suggest you contact D-Link customer support.
