Play History
I've been playing Eve for as long as I can remember. Time tends to blur into an endless mess of awesomeness when you become a part of something as involving and rewarding as Eve Online. I've played consistently since I initially subscribed roughly six years ago, without any form of hiatus or break from Eve's Immersive world. I have to admit I still love every second I get the chance to log in.
Corporate Life
With the character Verone I've typically been a part of pirate and PvP corporations, most notably Sniggerdly until I parted ways with them in late 2005 to find my own way. I consider [SNIGG] as the corporation in Eve that shaped me into who and what I am in game today.
It was shortly after leaving Sniggerdly that I formed Veto as a small scale RP corporation. Eventually I returned to piracy and expanded the corporation into a dictatorially ruled alliance of four corporations ran as divisions of Veto, under the banner of Veto Corp.
Among other things in the Eve community, for four years I've been CEO and Executor of Veto Corp and have always strived to create a corporation that breaks the mould that 99.9% of other corporations follow in game, in terms of structure and operation. So far, so good.
Eve TV & Alliance Tournaments
My initial appearance on Eve-TV remains to this day somewhat of a hazy and distant memory, probably due to the fact I was plied with alcohol by various Eve players and Veto Corp members for the preceding thirty six hours or so. I remember bright lights, lots of alcohol and good times before managing somehow to make it back to my hotel room in London in a massively inebriated state :D.
Subsequent appearances were in a more sobered fashion, assisting CCP and Eve TV as an expert and commentator on Alliance Tournaments IV, V and VI, as well as commentating live on stage during Fanfest 2008 and 2009's PvP tournaments, and participating in a number of interviews individually and with members of Veto Corp and Eve TV.
Work With EON
Since EON's launch in August 2005, I have been a contributor to the cause, writing various guides including one on piracy, and one on being a CEO, along with alliance profiles and reviews for MMM Publishing. More recently my first piece of EON fiction was published in Issue #017, titled "The Invisible War".
I guess it would be fair to say that I tend to be a general dogsbody for EON, lounging around and playing Eve while not needed, then jumping to action as a volunteer writer whenever Zapatero and the gang need an extra hand. A fortunate position I might add, that I quite like!
Fiction Writing
I've been actively writing fiction based around my character Verone for the last three years or so, as well as the odd piece of fiction unrelated to the character or Veto Corp. My writing spans over 100 individual Episodic pieces of writing based around my character and his corporate life, totalling some 500 pages.
Rather than choosing to write an ongoing story made up of long stretches of fiction, I've chosen to release small snippets of his life in no particular chronological order. The Episodes of fiction tend to be between two and ten pages in length, charting Verone's history, experiences, mistakes, triumphs and life. I feel that the release in no particular order gives readers the option to treat them individually, kind of like diary entries viewed in third person as a fly on the wall, or the opportunity to piece the story together and view the big picture.
All my fiction writing can be found in the Eve Library on the Eve Online forums, titled 'The Life Of An Outlaw'.
The Future
I'll continue to play Eve and contribute to New Eden as much as possible, of course.
Where this will take me is anyone's guess, but I'll still be here, pirating, writing fiction and roleplaying for as long as Eve remains.
