Urthel Drengist - Brief Introduction

Urthel Drengist

Urthel Drengist(age 25) is the son of a family which owned a small ( but very profitable ) industrial company belonging to the Ishukone Megacorporation in Daras VII. His father was a Caldari, Civire, and his mother is of Amarr origin and she was a Holder.

A very athletic person and a very intelligent and composure personality Urthel is a man of few words, speaking only when he has to without digressing.

During his stay in the Daras solar system Urthel had to cope up with the frequent pirate raids happening in the system and the military intervention of the State. Although he has never fired a gun, the times he had to run for his life and even fight with only his fists, are the least to say beyond his memory.

This has made him to become watchful for other people and not trusting easily. For whoever breaks through his personality defenses though Urthel is a great, pleasant person who will give and treat his friends with a great respect and mutual understanding. He always gives more than what he receives, a trait that many people wish to take advantage off but a trait which has made him much stronger as it made him to prepare against those kinds of people.

Urthel in the age of 18 left for the Science and Trade Institute to study Business and Intergalactic Relations & Diplomacy(double major). He managed to win some competitions within the S.T.I and he has also taken a minor in History & Cultures of New Eden and Sociology which enabled him to study in the University of Caille and Hedion. Throughout his studies Urthel begun to love Knowledge and he would study whichever field would actually intrigue him enough.

Of course many subjects within the State would be either censored or would need a special license to be read or would not even exist. Thus, he was using many times the means of black markets to acquire books on subjects he wished to learn. An action which started raising attention to his name.

''University Years''

One of the subjects that changed his life was Anarchy. After dwelling more and more into the subject he became a more radical thinker, he would often enough debate his own teachers on sociological matters and historical matters. Of course he would not openly admit he was an Anarchist but whoever would talk with him for the political situation within the State would either get that feeling or would feel he was against the State altogether. There were rumors that he was secretly trying to create his own theories regarding Anarchism, one of his professor quotes him saying in one of his politics class ‘’…. Don’t be so certain that humans can only coexist with a State, Empire, Federation or Republic…. We are more capable of much more dangerous things than any State, Federation, Republic or Empire. You would be amazed… ‘’ That was an incident which really worried the Authorities within the S.T.I.

After close surveillance by the State, Urthel decided he had to leave the State once he would finish his studies in the S.T.I. It was Urthel’s luck that the State did not understand his motives much faster. In fact many say that if Urthel wouldn’t be on top of his class making him a potential addition to the State-just like his parents were, he would be captured much faster by the State.

''Surrendering to the State''

After spending 2 months hiding away from the State, Urthel made further research on the field of Anarchy and believed that he found a new Anarchist school of thought which would make Anarchy a viable political system. It was his dream of establishing Anarchy in New Eden. A dream which wouldn't endure for too long.

He found out that his theory couldn't be implemented practically, simply because his theory was opposing any form of aggressive violence. He came to the conclusion that he couldn't change any of the four dominant political systems with simply trying to change the mindset of the individuals without being aggressive or violent enough, and violence and aggressiveness is something that only imperialists do. Not him though.

Thus, Urthel realized that what his true political affiliations stay with the theories of Liberalism/NeoLiberalism and Minarchism(In the strictest sense, it maintains that the state is necessary and that its only legitimate function is the protection of individuals from aggression, theft, breach of contract, and fraud, and the only legitimate governmental institutions are the military, police, and courts.)

This change of political beliefs and the guilt over the shame he had brought upon the name of his family made him to surrender to the State in order to pay for his disobedience into State Law.

His charges were of using black market elements during his time in the S.T.I and resisting arrest when the State Authorities wanted to question him more about his Anarchist beliefs.

In the year 114YC and specifically in 31st of August, Urthel surrendered himself officially in State Authorities and for 1 week he was trialed. Urthel although had resisted arrest, had never been tied with any terrorist or violent action against the State. In fact, all throughout his time in the State, he and his family had shown signs of great Caldari citizenship honoring and obeying the State. Thus, the Court had decided that Urthel will pay the amount of 300 Million ISK and would have his economic files being searched thoroughly in search of any transactions which could be considered as a threat against the State.

In addition, Urthel was not considered as part of the State citizenship and neither could he be considered Amarrian citizen. However, his act was appreciated by the State court and had restored the honor of his family, but not Urthels

The Court had decided that Urthel would be able to make a case of becoming a State citizen after 1 year.

Many had opposed and asked for greater measures however, the State had no evidence to link Urthel with any violent actions and couldn't punish him any more. After all, the punishment of 300 million ISK and the removal of his citizenship was more than enough as a punishment.

''Current Days''

After the end of his trial and hearings, Urthel now with whatever has left in his personal wealth has aligned himself with the CONCORD Assembly,away from the direct influences of any of the four Factions, creating Drengist Intergalactic Liberal Enterprises Ltd. (D.I.L.E.L), a conglomerate Corporation, having under its wings six(6) subsidiaries, which is part of CONCORD Assembly and its primary focus is :

Lead its subsidiaries into profit for the wellbeing of its stakeholders and Concord Assembly.

In addition, the Corporation is responsible for fighting Piracy and Criminal elements which exist within New Eden in order to safeguard the wellbeing of the citizens around promoting the ideals of Liberalism and Democracy that the Concord Assembly represents.

The new political beliefs that Urthel has, alongside with his experience in the Industrial world and the depth of his Knowledge has made him an excellent choice as a partner for CONCORD. After his trials in the State, the Inner Council of Concord Assembly had interviewed Drengist for about 2 weeks and he was considered the wisest choice for the job.

After so long Urthel could finally claim that he belonged somewhere, ready to promote Liberal and Democratic ideals around New Eden, without being tied by any of the four factions of New Eden.
