Carbonide not carbonate?

Is it possible that the carbonate referred to here is actually supposed to be Crystalline Carbonide? Carbonate as-is is a common/everyday material and not all that strong, while carbonide is already established in the lore as an ultra-durable advanced material used as Gallente T2 production components (like real life carbide alloys).
