On top of the general font problems described in the article I would like to mention, that there is big difference between the Latin and the Cyrillic font - the later being bigger, with different kerning etc. So, mixing Latin / Cyrillic text makes a big mess.
IMHO the description of the problem should be extended - CCP just have to buy / create professional fonts (typography is a serious science & art at the same time).
P.S. There is chance that the UI middleware has certain limitations / problems with rendering standard fonts.
