The oxygen supply of these is much too low, even the most basic current day scrubbers would keep air fresh for several days with only a kilo of active ingredient.

As most escape pods are designed to be picked up within a few hours of the ship's destruction, the most common design wouldn't incorporate them. Ships going out for missions deep in 0.0 might refit their escape pods with them, however. --CCP Eterne 22
