Talk:Damius III

Domain region info claims that Heideran III ruled in 21290 AD. Something funny about the numbering if we get Heideran I in 22480 AD.

Nice catch! :) --ISD Iceyabo 06:12, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Actually, still a bit off (H3 following D3), since Damian III ruled later than Heideran III. Logically, we'd have Heideran VI after Damian III (after all, we know that 300 years after Damian III's death, Heideran VII took the throne (the guy who was Emperor when the game launched.) --Mithfindel 06:23, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Well how I see it, is that there was other Heidarans but they never got to be
emperor. So the number of the name changed even though they were never
able to grasp the throne. Maybe they were just members of Royal Court?

Yes, though still we have the little problem that we know that Heideran III was an Emperor - and that happened 1500 years before Damius III, so I find it unlikely that they had another Heideran III after Damius III. Assuming there ordinals are growing, the first available Heideran in 22762 at the death of Damius III would be Heideran IV. However, we also know that the reigns of both Damius III and Heideran VII last for 300 years, and there's a 300 year gap between them, claimed to be filled (at least from the start) by another Heideran. Available ordinals are IV, V and VI - so yes, it would be possible that they all ruled in that 300-year gap. (We don't actually know, though logic would actually claim Heideran VI.) The original version of this article claims Heideran I, which is wildly off. At least some part of the article is credited to The Empyrean Age novel, have to check that and add a page reference.

(Also, talk broke the page width. Tried to fix. This includes editing ISD Iceyabo's line breaks.) --Mithfindel 07:05, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Reference to Damius III is at page 271 of my hardback copy of the Empyrean Age, ISBN 978-0-575-08268-7. The location does not mention Heideran of any name. That said (or written), I did not properly read through the novel, just browsed it looking for a the name "Damius". The original source of the article would be indeed interesting, it may be unpublished - so in that case, we'd need to wait for an answer / retcon from the storyline devs (or in this case, CCP Ginger). --Mithfindel 22:11, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

As you know the Fanfest is going on at the moment. But after that I will try to get into this just out of my deep curiosity on how this emperor lineage goes :) So I will try to get back with some answers.
