Svetlana Scarlet (Character)
Svetlana Scarlet is currently the Chief of Diplomatic Staff for the Caldari Independent Navy Reserve and the Fourth District and holds the rank of Captain. One of the most visible Caldari loyalist pod pilots, Scarlet has been a vocal opponent of Tibus Heth and the Caldari Providence Directorate. In recent months, she has become a critic of the previous establishment as well, blaming them for the economic problems suffered by the Caldari State which precipitated Heth's rise to power.

Education
As an Ishukone citizen, Svetlana Scarlet was raised in the company's creche system in a New Caldari Prime Ishukone enclave until the age of 18. She displayed no particular aptitude for any scientific or business field, though she had expressed a strong interest in history and political science. Though she was offered apprenticeship with the House of Records and the Caldari Business Tribunal, Scarlet enrolled at the State War Academy in Kisogo, intending to continue on to a career with Ishukone Watch.
By the end of Scarlet's four years at the Academy, however, her studies appeared to have changed her mind. Records from this period indicate a fascination on the part of Scarlet in the history and politics of the Gallente-Caldari War, as well as earlier social conflicts between the Caldari and Gallente, and this appears to have propelled her into a career with the Caldari Navy instead. She graduated from the Academy on 02 June 102 with specialties in Command and Logistics, and joined the Navy as a 2nd Lieutenant.
Though Scarlet's naval career was not a particularly eventful one, she managed to receive a wide range of deployments during her five year tour. Her first two and a half years were largely unremarkable, taking part in customs interdiction and anti-pirate operations with the 3rd and 5th Fleets.
Time in the Empire
Promoted to 1st Lieutenant on 26 September 104, Scarlet was transferred to the Navy's Amarr Liason Office in the Safizon system, where she served as Assistant to the Deputy Liason for Logistics. During this time, Scarlet became one of the primary conduits for information between the Liason Office and the Amarr Navy, often spending more time with Amarr officers than Caldari ones.
This then paved the way for a six-month stint as part of a Caldari-Amarr naval exchange program, where she qualified with both Amarr and Minmatar ship designs and participated in an Amarr Navy wargame as a member of OPFOR.
Return to the Academy
Following her stint in the Amarr Empire, Scarlet returned to the State War Academy, this time as an instructor and member of the Academy's Aggressor Squadron.
Freelance Career
On 10 March 107, Scarlet mustered out of the Navy, having finished her required five year tour, and was assigned a private pod pilot license by CONCORD shortly thereafter. Over the next several months, she worked as a freelance pilot with a variety of corporations in Caldari and Amarr space, including her parent Ishukone and Imperial Shipment. For a short time, she was a registered member of Freelancing Corp, a cooperative of freelance pilots.
Caldari Venture Interstellar
For six months, between June and December 107, Scarlet was a member of Caldari Venture Interstellar, a trading house run by future Caldari Independent Navy Reserve admiral Derrys Otireya. During this time, a variety of trading ventures, including mineral arbitrage, established a stable capital base for what would eventually become her personal combat fleet.
Career with the Reserve
In December 107, all three major officers in Caldari Venture Interstellar, Scarlet, Derrys Otireya, and Rjak Teken'duis, dissolved the corporation and enlisted in the Caldari Independent Navy Reserve. They joined shortly after the conclusion of the First Rogues War, as the Reserve was in its second generation recruitment phase. Her flight class included many officers who would go on to have command positions in the corporation, including Ladel Teravada.
