Revisit the standing matrix (CSM)

Summary

A problem for the RP aware pilot is the negative faction standing modifier associated with some of the factions. This is a serious problem for the pirate factions, which need some extra incentives to cope with this inconvenience. Thukker Tribe also has a pretty bad standing matrix, for example. And Blood Raiders, Sansha, and Guristas suffer from the additional problem that they are not recoverable once they drop below -5. EVE's promise is that a chosen path can always be changed; with much effort, but still. The "no way out" for enemies of pirate factions does not fit in this picture. Of the four big Empires, the Amarr have the worst standing matrix. It is hardly raising other factions while lowering others considerably. Given their latest political agenda of apeasement, freeing slaves and investing into Caldari industry, it looks hardly probable that their standing remain that averse.

As a first survey:

Thukker Tribe

  • Liked by two factions
  • Hated by 13 factions

Blood Raiders / Sansha / Guristas

  • Unable to recover standing

Pirate factions / CONCORD

  • Pirate factions lower CONCORD faction standing
  • Inability to raise CONCORD faction standing

General

  • Wishes for an Amarr/Gallente and Minmatar/Caldari (Thukker?) aligned faction

Solution

Evaluate the standing impact when running for pirate factions versus the rewards associated with it; modify the matrix to amend the "no way out" effect, when a pilot is an enemy of pirate factions; improve the Amarr standing overall.
