For the Greater Good

Li3 Federation was formed by Lost in Eve podcast host, Jade in late 2011. Wanting to take the passion 'for' the game that Jade has and putting it back 'into' the game in a more tangible way, Li3 Federation was created. Initially, the alliance was to focus on bringing traditionally challenging groups together from high sec, low sec, and wormholes under one main umbrella. The target was to organize the groups under one name, focusing on common goals and achievements in game as well as combine forces together in the political arenas such as the CSM process..to form a larger representation from each of the aforementioned areas of space. After countless hours of discussions during the recruitment process, it was discovered, however, that the mentality of those entities living in those spaces are so vastly different from one another. So much so that it made recruitment and sustaining growth and numbers a near impossibility since many weren't able or willing to see or understand the 'macro view' of what really goes on in EVE Online and how important their contributions could be via the alliance. This led to a crossroad decision that only wormholes would be focused on initially in the alliance.

In late 2011/early 2012, Jade got a taste of null sec warfare via the Branch campaign in the North of New Eden. This was an obvious eye opener as both the massive fleet fights and general lifestyle in null sec appealed to Jade almost immediately as his understanding of how null sec and its politics work, he was hooked! Realizing more of how null sec does affect a lot of what goes on in EVE Online and how intertwined the politics really are. The challenges of entering sovereignty null security space quickly became apparent with all sovereignty space taken by a large entity that was already deeply rooted financially and militarily, not to mention politically aligned with one or several 'friends.' The Problem became more and more apparent. How to bring in an 'unknown' into existing space and make a name for yourself? While Jade wanted to do the 'old school' way by picking an area and moving in with brute force, it was quickly recognized that with a new entity and no (alliance) income, that way would end in certain doom and possible total eradication of this new alliance.

With EVE being a social game, it made no sense to 'go at it alone' so Li3 approached some friends that Jade flew with in SpaceMonkey's Alliance and after some brainstorming, they offered to help. After several rounds of discussions and negotiations with CFC leadership, Li3 found itself splitting off from its wormhole branch into a corporation that integrated itself into the SpaceMonkey's alliance. SMA helped Li3 by integrating it into their group to grow numbers, gain experience, and be active until such time it would be possible to leave SMA to return to Li3 with a solid group of null sec pilots and build its own sovereignty space. It was on this platform that the true Li3 Federation was established.

It was discovered, however, despite our impressive participation in the Delve 2012 campaign that there would not have been any space offered to us in CFC space. This was obviously a massive disappointment for a group that has given its all to impress and to gain no tangible reward for it in the end. Li3 understood that at that point it was time to act as it looked difficult at best to continue with the CFC. The focus on gaining its own sovereign space was a main driver for Li3 Federation and the tenacity and focus shown during the Delve 2012 campaign when the alliance (then in the form of one corp) fought valiantly alongside coalition forces to take over Delve, Querious, and Period Basis caught the eyes of the leaders of the HBC. After some negotiations, Li3 Federation was accepted into the coalition, thus kickstarting the alliance as a recognized null sec group! With most of our pilots already deployed in the south, we moved all assets to the south and staged as our own true entity with the HBC working towards our next goals and objectives.

Li3 stayed in the HBC for nearly a year and had grew steadily throughout that time. We became an active alliance, that while going through the growing pains of a young alliance we still managed to consistently be in fleets amongst the coalition mates. However, it became somewhat apparent that staying within the HBC would prove to be difficult. The alliance hit a roadblock in terms of its sov goals and had been having challenges integrating to the way the HBC was set up. There were clear differences in expectations in terms of organization, support, and overall drive, direction, and purpose. A timely surprise in the form of an invitation to return 'home' to the CFC occurred and through analysis of the offer, Li3 opted to leave the HBC and return to the CFC finally as its own alliance with its own sovereignty space. Like all major moves, it proved challenging to Li3 in that many corps didn't follow Jade's vision for the alliance and thus opted to stay behind. The alliance is now situated in Vale of the Silent and continues to exist and grow, despite the adversity and attempted propaganda to see it failscade to non-existence. Not only have Li3 survived, but is thriving under the new organization and change of scenery. This alliance has been built before and the challenge to re-build does not phase the alliance leaders at all. Failscade is not an option.

We, in Li3 look at ourselves as being a fun group that are constantly in learning mode. While we have both experienced and inexperienced pilots, our focus is always on improvement. Li3 Federation tends to be quite goal/objective-oriented. That coupled with being fairly organized and having a focus on communications we have seen ourselves shoot up the ladder fairly quickly as an alliance. We have adopted a philosophy that 'there's no such thing as a non-combat pilot' and as such we have traditionally been able to get a good level of participation in fleets, realizing that real life does hinder that from time to time. Our good atmosphere makes learning to become more proficient FC and PvPer is unique and we aim to nurture that. While scamming is a recognized part of the game, Li3 Federation does not partake in such activities. Also the issue of trolling, we aim to keep our internal atmosphere positive and one that contributes to learning by doing (=making mistakes) without fear of being trolled into the ground. Our philosophy simply is, Help Us Help You Help Us to be THE reason for logging in each day and to be your source of FUN!  :-)

The Vision

To become one of the most prominent and sought-after alliances in the game, attracting people that value community and common goals, objectives, and focus. We aim to provide FUN and true PURPOSE for logging in to play the game. We aim to facilitate a platform for the members to contribute to both corp and alliance objectives whilst providing them with even greater opportunities via the coalition (militarily speaking) to enjoy the best parts of the game.

Goals

-- To establish ourselves as a well known and respected (dare we say 'feared') null sec group -- To gain & maintain our own sovereignty space, including the further development of it as we grow by increasing our military might -- To become totally self-sufficient as an alliance through strong usages of ratting, industrial, and production -- To become a relaible and respected PvP force and specialty skills to set us apart from other alliances -- To offer pilots a 'different option' to join...one where they are a part of writing history for tomorrow's big alliance....today! We aim to help you enjoy the journey just as much as the end result itself
