  • Dierdra reminds the Council of the next CSM CCP meeting being November 14th, and the Council decides to have to additional internal meetings before the review deadline, so on Oct 25th and Nov 1st.
  • in the log at position 17:40:10 Erik asks the Council members to moderate their tone when calling forum posters to order, who did not follow the CSM procedures right. He is referring to an answer of mazz in the current meeting's agenda thread, and suggests that next time instructions to other people were to be given in a conceding fashion. Dierdra wants to put a little note into the next meeting's agenda thread to make it more clear to reader, what the thread is about.
  • in the log at position 17:46:00 OZ asks how the Council would like to proceed with issues, which CCP asked the CSM for feedback on. And the Council agrees to have an internal review of the documents that its members are collaborating on and then submit them to CCP.

Discussion

Scanner change has created an imbalance (mazzilliu)

Dierdra introduces the issue which has caused a lot of upstir in the community. While CCP might not revert back the change, some suggestions are given to alleviate the perceived imbalance which persists.
Erik appreciates the suggestions, yet inquires about the recent reduction in scanner delay. OZ explains that the current delay still favours those who trying to avoid to be scanned down. Dierdra wants to add this recent change into the wiki doc.
Issler and Vuk do not like the suggested local delay, but in total endorse the issue.

Motion passes 7/0

Avalloc joins the meeting now.

CSM information release (mazzilliu)

mazzilliu explains that information from internal CSM meetings should be able to be shared to the public before the minutes are actually published. That could also revive the public CSM channel a bit.
Dierdra suggests to restrict the early release of information to the voting results; not any part of the discussion. This opinion is supported by OZ.
Erik wants to know if the CSM internal meetings were NDA covered to begin with, unless they contained CCP's IP. Vuk and OZ clarify that CCP had deemed the CSM meetings also as being covered by the NDA.
Dierdra adds to the discussion that CSM internal meeting minutes were not checked by CCP. Consequently, the vote results should be fine for publishing before the minutes, Vuk agrees. And Erik concedes that the CSM process description required a publishing of the minutes within three days of the meeting.
mazzilliu suggests to reduce the proposal to only allow vote results. That would make it easier to follow and the votes are the important aspect in the end, which the public is interested in.

Motion passes 8/0

Add scan angle buttons to scanner window (Dierdra)

Dierdra explains that the slider is too fiddly when hurry is required. Buttons are easier to trigger.
OZ asks why a text field had not been suggested. Dierdra answeres that buttons are still quicker to hit.

Motion passes 8/0

Character lock no resale possible (mazzilliu)

mazzilliu introduces the motion as another request for more account security. Using suspicious events (IP or e-mail change) as a trigger, the account could be locked from perform drastic changes, like a character deletion or sale. While people are responsible for the security of their accounts, but account hacking is still a big issue for CCP.
Avalloc wonders if the suggestions were not going too far. Issler seconds that opinion. mazzilliu responds that the suggestions for higher security did not impact usability. Avalloc then refers to higher password security, which had been addressed as an issue in the Iceland meeting. Erik also refers to the issue proposed on Iceland and wonders if the Council should not wait for that to happen, before adding to it. mazzilliu clarifies that this new suggestion gave additional security after hacking had occurred. Avalloc insists on simplicity of measures, for an EVE account was not a credit card.
OZ asks if a password change could not simply have an email verification. mazzilliu keeps her standpoint that emails are too easily compromised.
Erik wants to know how big the work load on the GM department really was due to petitions about hacked accounts. mazzilliu does not know the number, but only that the load was considerable.

Motion passes 5/3

Redesign sensor booster and ECCM effects (Dierdra)

Dierdra states that the new effects were still unsatisfying and motivate players switching off effects altogether.

Motion passes 8/0

Critique the alliance tournament (mazzilliu)

mazzilliu put together a selection of player feedback regarding the latest Alliance Tournament.
Dierdra wonders if conceding a match that is impossible to win was something that players wanted.
Issler wants the tournament schedule to avoid any public holiday. mazzilliu wonders if the opposite might have been a deliberate decision. Dierdra adds that avoiding holidays would be near impossible in an international game.
Erik points out the need for an improved perspective as one topic he likes in the suggestion. He refers to football games which are always filmed from the same side to avoid confusion.
Dierdra inquires about the suggested ads, if they were meant to be player-made. mazzilliu responds that she had initially thought of real ads as a real income source for CCP, but will add this additional thought to the submission. Vuk is against real ads, and Issler supports the idea of player-made ads.
Dierdra then asks about solutions to the entry process, since only rough complaints are mentioned in the issue. mazzilliu concedes that she did not have solutions, yet compiled player feedback, but mentions rule changes in the last minute and slot sales. Some discussion now follows about the good and bad of selling alliance tournament slots without real solution.

Replace agent avatar with corporate logo in standings list (Dierdra)

Dierdra explains that the motion was about giving more relevant information in the personal 'liked by' standing sheet, while at the same time saving bandwidth.
OZ is concerned that changing the behaviour of agent representation might not be quite so easy to do, since they are characters from a game design perspective. Dierdra responds that CCP would have to deal with the implementation constraints.

Add grantable titles just like grantable roles (mazzilliu)

Purged as duplicate to Corporation_and_Alliance_tool_overhaul.

Api improvements (mazzilliu)

mazzilliu shortly recalls the three parts of the issue.
OZ points out that CCP had already indicated that they would revamp the API completely. But that this was all scheduled till after COSMOS due to server issues.
Consequently, the issue is purged by parts two and three. Votes are on the error, which is the first part.
