Maya Rin

Maya Rin is a player character (PC) who is frequently found in the Neweden-Radio chat. Her longstanding corporation employment has been in Ma-Ven Industries.

Character history

Early Years

Maya grew up with her sister (Emli Rin) on a planet in a privileged and politically strong (pro slavery) family (part of the extended Kor-Azor family group) who owned large numbers of slaves and large tracts of land. When her sister passed the aptitude tests and joined up to the pod pilot program, following in her footsteps became Maya's main aim in life. During training Emli's was thought to be irretrievably lost during a training exercise due to multiple malfunctions in the memory transfer mechanisms and clone bays which suggested assassination. Despite inquests and pressure by family Rin, no definite verdict of sabotage was reached.

Emli's untimely demise spurred her desire to become a pod pilot, seeing it as a way to realize her sister's dream for her. Training at the Imperial Academy with her specialization as a soldier Maya thought to take the fight to the enemies she thought most likely to be the cause of the assassination, the enemies of the Amarr empire, the Gallenti and the Minmatar. She initially undertook a multitude of missions on behalf of her nation, but all was not well. Her family, having lost one child to the dream of pod piloting, they were unwilling to let another go the same way. Despite surviving the training her family threatened to disown her and cease supporting her unless she returned home.

First corporation

During the long legal process of divorcing her family, Maya moved to Caldari space to study the Amarrian allies, finding many qualities that she admired including their military prowess and love of order. In this time she joined a corporation called Hell's Highway. Here she learned the basics that all pod pilots learn, how to fight the various factions more effectively, how to fit her ship to counter specific enemies and how to train most efficiently.

Ma-Ven and Eve Radio

While she made friends in highway to Hell, she was lured away from the corp eventually by both lovers and friends found in the Eve Radio channel. Her first love was Aedaxus, a Caldari, whom she met in the channel, while her friendship grew with a multitude of other characters. However it was not meant to last.

Personality

Maya is known for being unpredictably (and often comically) violent, and hyperactive at times, but is frequently friendly and cheerful. She has shown feminist tendencies. While she may talk about violence, she rarely partakes in any kind of PVP engagements, preferring PVE entertainments and lately taking a foray into the industrial side of the EVE universe.
