Talk:Fleet options

This page would need a extended part to go over the fleet bonuses. Not much need for the basic bonuses, but needs more explanation over the warfare links. Very often i run into problems of managing a fleet. Trying to setup someone as WC and someone else with Wing Booster role and it just dosen't work.

DEfenitly needs more information on that, because it's really confusing.

Free Move and combat category

This page needs to have info about what the "Free Move" setting does. I don't know so I can't add it.

I also removed the word "combat" from the fleet description. I did this because fleets are also used for other purposes. Therefor, I would like to see this article moved into a different category than "Combat".

"Fleet" links

I don't know if this is a general Wiki thing, but is it really necessary to have almost every single instance of the word "Fleet" link back to this very page? It seems a bit redundant, to me.
If there is a reason for it, I'd love to know for future reference.

Page Title

Is there some way to remove the reference to Gangs from the title of the page?
Being new to wiki's, I can't figure out how to change it, if it's possible. Probably be good to do so for consistency, though.

- Though I just noticed, searching for Gang links to this page... maybe there should be a separate page for gangs, explaining how they're now defunct, that could link to this one? Ah, I don't know, all this is new to me.

"Boosters"

If a character with Wing Command IV is wing booster and the wing has 5 squadrons, do only 4 squadrons receive the boost or do none receive a boost? Nothing available is very clear on this rule.

Commanders are not recieving bonus from their fleet superiors

The info about squad commanders receiving bonus from wing and fleet commanders seems to be incorrect. It seems squad commanders only receive bonus from themselves and nobody else. Same goes for wing commanders getting bonuses from fleet commander.

While an old Dev Blog: http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=397 claims that this is intentional, it just seems wrong:

"Commanders can only give gang bonuses and receive their own bonuses but can not receive bonuses from other commanders or normal members."

I have hard time believing that this is how it should work, so I don't want edit the page directly. Could somebody check this ingame and then edit the page to match the TQ functionality, please?

"Both the commander (fleet, wing or squadron) must be in the same system for the bonuses to be applied."

Ambiguous confusion. Both who? The commander and squad members? The commander and the booster? Fleet Commander and Squadron commander? All of the above? This needs rewording. -Selari 12:04, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
