About Dreddit

Dreddit is a group of Eve players from the news aggregation website reddit.com. Stories regarding Eve were regularly posted to the gaming subreddit, the posts gained a lot of interest from the general reddit users and usually hit the front page of /r/gaming, if not the front page. After one story in particular reddit user AZRugger (former CEO Fletcher Hammond) created a thread to see how many people would be interested in starting an Eve corp.

After the creation of Dreddit, membership quickly rose into the hundreds, quickly reaching the 800-mark. An 800-member noob corp meant only one thing: flying around Eve in massive tacklerifter fleets, with the intent to blow up as much as possible, while losing cheap and easily replaceable ships.

Dreddit History

February 2010

Dreddit's beginning speaks much about the corporation. Originally, Dreddit was to be based as far away from the griefers known as "Goons" as possible; and as such, called Placid home. However, ex-CEO Fletcher Hammond had the map upside down, placing the fledgling corp right on top of the Goons.

Not long after a Dreddit mining operation was hotdropped by Goons, a discussion between directors took place and the Goons set Dreddit to +10 standings "for lulz and nostalgia."

March 2010

Wardecs from Privateers and other empire corporations, intended to disrupt Dreddit logistics, ensure; Dreddit, largely unaffected, fights back in it's isk-war fashion of attacking expensive ships with large fleets of cheap ships.

May 2010

Dreddit removes a Privateer pos from empire in response to the continued Privateer wardecs; the owning corporation drops from Privateers. In late May, Operation TROLL OP drew huge successes; Dreddit takes sovereignty in nine systems in Delve.
