Developed by the Gallente in the Caldari-Gallente War as a means to fight off the solo-fighters that the Caldari used to great success. Now drones have been developed by every Empire in Eve each prefering to use the weapons (damage type) of the home Empire that created them. Also drones have expanded upon just combat drones to include many more functions including repair and electronic warfare. Drones are only carried in drone bays of ships, and are limited by the carrying capacity of the ship and the M/bit processing speed. Drones are very versatile and can do anything from mining to swamping battleships. However, it should be noted that they have very limited tanking ability.
