Ataharan Taldaraani (Character)
Ataharan Taldaraani is a Reborn Intaki from the village of Parada on Intaki Prime. His current vessel is seventeen years old.
After Ataharan killed a Caldari sympathizer (Marashan Tilaat) who was abusing a fellow Reborn, a small contingent of Caldari marines was sent down from orbit to evacuate Caldari civilians and sympathizers from the backwater village. The marines did not try to investigate the murder.
Marashan's family tried to get the marines to arrest Ataharan, who was hiding in the jungle at the time. In the ensuing chaos, four Intaki civilians were killed, including Ataharan's mother and sister. The marines blamed the Tilaats, who they said were carrying small arms. Some locals claimed that the marines fired upon the unarmed civilians to restore calm. Others, including Ataharan's friend Garam, insisted that the four were publicly executed as an example.
Ataharan soon after participated in a hastily-laid ambush in the nearby jungle when the marines again attempted to evacuate all of the threatened Caldari loyalists from the village. All but two of the ten marines were killed in the ambush.
Ataharan claims that Parada was intentionally destroyed from orbit in retaliation for the ambush. An internal investigation after the incident revealed that the wounded marines accidentally called in the village's coordinates instead of their own when asking for a medivac. During its descent, the carrier-launched dropship Itarushi fired air-to-ground missiles to clear a landing zone, inadvertently destroying several buildings. The resulting fires devastated the small village.
Following the Parada Incident, Atarasha joined the "Dust of Intaki" insurgent organization. As a low-level soldier, he participated in the rescue of prisoners held by a black-ops team in Harasha. The prisoners included Kyraella Myshtana, at the time a recognized Idama and dean of the Quietude of Atashtana.
He participated in several other inconclusive engagements, mostly with Caldari sympathizers amongst the native population before his peripheral involvement in the Tikraul Incident.
After Tikraul, he was one of dozens of Dust of Intaki volunteers sent off-world for combined arms training. He was spacelifted by a covert-ops pilot working for the "Intaki Resistance Armada", a loosely-organized capsuleer insurgency. Since then, Ataharan has been attending the University of Caille in Bourynes, studying to become a capsuleer.
