Summary

This issue has been raised in may, but recent developments require the issue to be looked at again.

While not new, a certain tactic is currently being employed by criminals, which allows them to operate in high-security space despite their negative security status. The tactic is as follows:

  • Fly into empire in pod
  • Let neutral alt pile up ships in safespot (either with Orca or by ejecting)
  • Board ships and fly to belt/station/gate
  • Activate smartbombs or ortherwise gank some targets
  • Let neutral alt loot the wrecks
  • Repeat

One of the ways CCP fixed the imbalances with Suicide Ganking was by increasing the security status penalty associated with this activity. However, since security status does not seem to (temporarily) prevent people from Suicide Ganking, this remedy has been countered.

To look at future options, it would be advisable to confer between the CSM and CCP's "Task Force Doughnut", to see what CCP currently has in the pipeline regarding Suicide Ganking, and offer advise where necessary. A popular request is the removal of insurance for people killed by CONCORD. CCP committed itself to implement this feature (see useful links), however after almost half a year there still is no news. A status update regarding this feature would be welcome.

In addition, this second CSM council might wish to discuss more exotic features which allows victims to get their revenge, and putting justice and security more in the hands of the players.
