Classic and Premium graphics card information for EVE Online

Requirements for Linux and Macintosh can be found here Do note that the Premium content is not yet available for Linux or Mac - But has been unofficially available since December 2007. It's suggested that you keep your computer's drivers updated, this increases performance and stability in almost all cases. Here's a list of most known vendors for graphic cards, chipset drivers and sound cards.

Graphic Cards:
nVidia
ATI
Matrox
SiS

DirectX and Windows:
DirectX web installer
DirectX End User Runtime ( if the web installer reports everything updated when it isn't )
WindowsUpdate ( fixes a lot of issues for players in many cases )

Soundcards:
Soundblaster
Realtek
SoundMax
M-Audio ( Formerly Midiman )

Chipset drivers:
SiS
Via

Classic graphic content:
In order to run the classic graphic contenr for EVE, the graphic card is required to offer hardware Transform and Lighting (T&L)support and 32MB RAM, additionally you will need to have the latest version of DirectX 9.0c installed.

Your desktop resolution has to be at least 1024 x 768 to run the game, lower resolutions are not supported.
We also recommend that you use the latest drivers for your soundcard and your motherboard's chipset. Here is a lost of know hardware vendors. Install all possible Windows updates before continuing, do however note that some Windows patches can cause problems in rare cases..

nVidia cards:
GeForce 2 - GTS / Pro / MX-200 / MX-400
GeForce 3 - TI 200 / TI 500
GeForce 4 - MX420 / MX440 / MX460 / TI 4200 / TI 4400 / TI 4600 / TI 4800
GeForce Fx - 5200 / 5600 / 5700 / 5800 / 5900 / 5950
All later nVidia cards
The latest Drivers for Nvidia graphics cards can be found here.

ATI cards:
ATI Radeon 7200 / 7500 / 8500 / 9200 / 9000 PRO / 9700 PRO / 9800 PRO
ATI All In Wonder Radeon
All later ATI cards
For ATI cards we do recommend that you use the latest Catalyst driver, downloadable from the ATI website.

Please note that some ATI Mobility cards have been known cause problems when trying to run EVE, for that visit your Notebooks manufacturers site and download the latest drivers. If those do not work use the latest available version of ATI's Catalyst drivers

Matrox cards:
Matrox Parhelia
We recommend using the latest Matrox drivers, downloadable from the Matrox website

Intel Intel GMA950 X3000/3100/3500
You can check if your Intel graphics card supports T&L here Drivers can be found here

Note that this list is not complete and not all the cards listed run the game flawlessly. Some low end cards can cause EVE to run slowly and thus cause stutter or graphical lag ( such as onboards graphic cards ), check your Windows graphic settings to see if you can change options from quality to performance as well as lowering graphical detail. Doing the same ingame in the Graphics tab is also recommended. Conversely, if you have a video card that's not on the list but supports T&L, it might still play EVE.

Premium graphic content:

Even if you can run the Premium client the rest of your hardware could not be up to the task. Even though the graphics card is the primary hardware here the rest of your hardware needs to be powerful as well. You may suffer hickups which will require you to tone down your graphical settings, the classic client will always be an option for you if you feel the Premium client isn't running as you hoped. Updating drivers ( links on top of page ) is suggested since it'll increase performance and stability of your system.

Here's a list of cards that support Shader Model 3, do note that some cards may be missing from the list.
