Bumping is the process of ramming your ship into another persons ship to move their position. This is desirable to move other player ships and typically capitals so that they can be killed in PvP.

Bumping typically is to move a target;

  • Away from a stargate so they can't jump
  • Away from a station so they can't redock.
  • Away from their chosen direction of alignment so they cannot warp out

As EVE does not take ship mass into account and there is no collision damage. even frigates can bump capital ships.

POS Bowling is an example of a strategy for bumping.

How to

To bump another ship, you can;

  • Setting your ship to approach the other ship at high velocity
  • Constantly steer your ship to collide with another ship.
