Otro Gariushi

Gender: Male
Race/Bloodline: Caldari, Civire
Born: <Unknown>
Died: May 5th, YC.110 (23,346 AD)

The most recent CEO of Ishukone. Unbeknownst to the general public, Gariushi was a former Guristas pirate with a 25 million isk bounty on his head, whose actions led to the private disgrace of the preceding CEO, Les Akkilen and the field testing of the first prototype Raven-class battleship. The circumstances surrounding his assumption of the CEO position at Ishukone are covered in the Novella "Ruthless" by Tony Gonzales. His later life and his death are covered in "Empyrean Age", also by Tony Gonzales.

Early Years

Gariushi's family moved to the underdeveloped mining world of Drenali Seven while Otro was still young, settling in the town of Kaurikou Junction.

Gariushi's parents both died while he was young. Following his mother's tragic death in an industrial accident, Otro's father - Vilamo - turned to drug dealing for the Guristas to help the then 16-year-old Otro attain his life goals. After Vilamo was murdered by an Ishukone executive, Otro was taken in by his father's contact in the Guristas, a man known as "Gavriel".

Pirate career

Ten years later, Otro had risen through the Guristas ranks to the point where the Cartel had paid for him to be given Capsuleer implants. Gariushi selectively targetted Ishukone vessels, and was, as a result, reunited with his estranged sister, Mila, following the destruction of the Ishukone Watch vessel IWV-35G15 “Trevani”.

Between them, the two siblings pieced together the details of gross corruption on the part of Ishukone's CEO, Les Akkilen, who was bribing the Guristas to leave Ishukone shipping alone in favour of the other megacorporations. Gariushi's personal crusade against Ishukone jeopardized this arrangement however, causing him to make an enemy of a Guristas commander by the name of "Bane".

It was only through an act of considerable daring, involving the near-theft of the Ishukone Corporation's brand new "Raven"-class battleship prototype and a session of tense bartering with Jirai "Fatal" Laitanen that Gariushi was able to expose Akkilen's treachery and have the corrupt CEO disgraced. The disgrace happened in private, however, with all knowledge pertaining to those events declared a highly classified State secret. The board of directors voted unanimously to name Gariushi as the next CEO of Ishukone. Mila became the corporation's CFO under the assumed name of Kinachi Hepimeki.

Corporate Career and Death

Gariushi quickly became a celebrity in the State, celebrated among the Caldari for his ethical treatment of the citizens under his corporation's employ. His spectacularly ugly features and the prominent skull-and-crossbones tattoo on his cheekbone ensured that he cut an unusual figure at business meetings - a fact that he played to his advantage.

Shortly after the Caldari Constructions Armour Forge riots, and the sudden rise to prominence of Tibus Heth, Gariushi made a national appeal for calm and restraint to the whole State, telling them "We are united in purpose, but we must never, ever be united in hate". This call for peace was well-received, and prompted the Gallente president, Souro Foiritain, to organize a diplomatic summit with Gariushi, to be held aboard the corporation's headquarters station in the Malkalen system.

The peace summit went horribly wrong, however, when The Broker, having assumed the cloned appearance of respected Gallentean admiral Alexander Noir, used the Federal delegation's flagship - the Nyx-class "FNS Wandering Saint" - to ram the Ishukone Corporation's headquarters station in the Malkalen system. The resulting explosion killed in excess of six hundred thousand other people. Among them was Otro Gariushi.

The Broker's motive for this act was unknown even to Gariushi himself, who had for some time been in negotiation with Sanmatar Maleatu Shakor over "Insorum", the antidote for Vitoc developed by Ishukone as their next big pipeline product. The Broker had also been bidding on Insorum, massively outbidding the Minmatar. Gariushi refused the Broker's offer, however, and ultimately turned the antidote over to Shakor and the Elders for free.

The Broker, denied access to the only compound that could reverse a terminal condition affecting all of his clones and their master template, vowed to destroy Gariushi and all his works, and hijacked Noir's body and the "Wandering Saint" to achieve that end.

Legacy

Tibus Heth was quick to pounce upon Gariushi's death to mobilize the Caldari. Candlelight vigils were held across the State, and Heth's "Provists" made very sure that reminders of the Malkalen Incident and the Armour Forge riots were close at hand. Shortly afterwards, the State was motivated and ready for the assault on Caldari Prime.

Mila Gariushi survived the Malkalen incident, and is currently in hiding at the hidden Insorum production facility.

Gariushi's final wish - that the Insorum antidote be given to Maleatu Shakor at no charge - was honoured, and with it the Elders launched their invasion of the Amarr Empire.
