Tahaki Karin is a former crew member on board a ship that brought an inert rogue drone on board at the behest of the capsuleer, Dagan. When the drone suddenly reactivated, she was locked into her room by Dagan as he ejected.
Karin managed to escape through the air ducts and found Neral, the communications officer, with a wound to her abdomen. Neral tried to warn her about something, but could not manage to get it out coherently. Karin refused to abandon Neral and carried her along, trying to get to an escape pod in the wreck of the ship. She got trapped, however, and the sound she assumed was the drone got closer and closer. However, it turned out to be a human rescuer, who Karin initially assumed to be CONCORD.
