Drafted 8 - Inside the station

Inside the station

You take a good look around, everywhere you look there are plastic cards stuck to walls and near equipment. You study the nearest card, it reads: 'Door to elevator, press to open, goes to Hangar control room.' On an orange card above it, crossed out words make out: 'Door to elevator, press to open, goes to another hangar'.

You look at Chiraq, "do they verify this or is it just a guess" you ask.

"I don't know, I think the green cards represent things they know for sure, the orange ones need to be verified by another person and the red ones are unknown."

"The first two I can understand, but why the red ones?"

"Probably to make visual what they need to check before they can continue on this station."

"And what are we going to do?"

"I think we will visit the marine squad leader in his new headquarters" Chiraq replies as he is heading for the doors of an elevator. At least that is what the green card reads, and you hope they did their job correctly.

Chiraq presses a button and the door opens without as much as a hiss. The both of you step in and according to one green card, surrounded by other green and orange cards you need to press the rectangular and squiggly line to go to Hangar Control. Anticipating the worst you press the button and the elevator door closes. A moment later you get a sinking feeling in your gut, indicating that the elevator is moving up. You have no idea of how fast the elevator is going or how high you are above the hangar floor. With a small bump the elevator stops and its door opens again. You step out to see a couple of marines creating a couple of workstations with the equipment they brought along. The scientists standing beside them have their attention fixed on a terminal, you guess has something to do with the Hangar and the equipment there.

"Anything to report squad leader?" Chiraq says to no one in particular.

The scientists look up annoyed at the interruption, but as soon as they find out who is breaking the silence. "Yes sir, we have a lot to report, because we found out quite a lot, but nothing to help us understand these systems just yet. Our science boys are trying to figure out what they mean and how they operate" the squad leader replies, standing at attention.

"At ease Morgan, you know that by now" Chiraq replies, as he sees the squad leader almost saluting him. "I thought we cracked the language of the Yan Jung years ago, I was under the assumption that we could read their language as easily as we can do our own."

"Well, we thought we had cracked the basic language after our discoveries of the artifacts, but apparently they have more than one language, especially in writing things down" a slightly pompous scientist named Devant replies to the question meant for Morgan.

"That may be Devant. But I remind you of the promise you made when I hired you two years ago. If I could get you in, the mysteries of the Yan Jung would be known within 24 hours. They have passed, so where are my mysteries, where are my secrets?"

"You cannot expect us to perform miracles Chiraq, in spite of what I promised, I didn't take into account that they would use more than one language. Not even our translation computers can crack this language with just a few hours of work, and they are the best there are in the universe."

"Ease up Devant, I already knew that your promise was premature at best. However, you still have to find out how to read their language. In the meantime, we will explore the hangar areas. I heard you found a second hangar" Chiraq says as he turns to Morgan.

"Yes sir, it needs to be checked out before I can declare it safe."

"Well, as I am here and the one who got us in as well, we'll check it out. Give us the equipment and we'll find out what's in there." You look in surprise at Chiraq. Does he expect you to be a full blown scientist here, checking out a room that hasn't seen humans in like forever? What the hell.

"No worries ensign. Nothing scary is going to happen, it has been checked by drones first, there is oxygen and no scary monsters to find."

"Right." you reply.

Stepping out of the elevator you look at a massive room, hardly any lights are illuminating it. You can make out vague shapes at the end of the room, but you have no idea what they are.

"Can we have a bit more light?" you ask Chiraq.

"I don't know, probably this is an unmanned bit of the hangar. Perhaps there was no need for the Yan Jung to come here" he replies.

"That's unlikely, why would there be an elevator to this floor, and why are there railings before you drop to your death below?"

"Good point. Shall we see what buttons will turn on the lights?"

"Sure, my clone is activated, right?" you reply with a bit of gloom.

"Yes it is, but the implants in your head are pretty expensive so try not to die too soon, ok?" Chiraq replies with a smile.

"Sure, no worries, I will do my best to stay alive" you say as you walk along the wall trying to find somewhere to turn on the lights. You stumble upon a control unit and you try to get a better look at it, reaching for the flashlight in the backpack the marines prepared for you. Chiraq apparently concentrating on the sights in the hangar followed you but didn't notice that you stopped moving. He bumps into you and you hit the control panel hard. Suddenly the part of the hangar where you are is brightly lit and the control panel is starting up. You try to figure out what is displayed on the screen but it is going to fast for you to read. Then the main screen is displayed, all with incomprehensible characters you can't make heads or tails from.

"Now what?" Chiraq asks.

"I haven't got a clue, but I do have an idea" you reply.

"What is it?"

"Well, you said there is a translation of the Yan Jung writing available, isn't there?"

"Yes, but you forget they have more than just one language."

"No not really, but I can use Aura to combine the two and try to use whatever they found out already, combined with the translation of the other language if she can help us to at least turn on the lights."

"That's why I brought you with me, you think outside of the box and even better, come up with solutions I can use."

"Errr, thanks I guess. Aura, did you get that?"

"Yes I did ensign. I have already established a connection with the systems on the station to get the original translation of the Yan Jung language. I have also scanned the systems of the scientists for additional information on the characters and their meaning."

"Nice, I knew it was a good idea to install those extra computers on my ship. Give me a sign when you found out how to turn on the lights."

"I have already figured that one out, it is quite obvious."

"So which button do I push?"

"The one with the circle the triangle and the stripes coming from the circle ."

"Ok, let's try that one, ready in three, two, one...." and you push the characters. Suddenly the entire hangar is extremely well lit. You turn around and take another look at the room you are in.

"Wow" Chiraq says.

"Wow indeed" you reply.

The entire hangar is filled with ships, varying from small frigates to large battleships. A huge number of them, waiting for action, shiny and hovering in their place to be picked up by their owners. The sight of them is new yet familiar as well. Then it hits you, these are like the drone ships outside, but they look like there are parts missing. It must be the AI that's built in the ones outside that makes them look different. You wonder how it would feel like to fly one of these 'puppies', but you got the feeling that this will not happen in the near future. You walk up to the nearest ship, with what looks like a frigate sized hull. You admire the seamless hull off the ship, the sleek lines, nice proportioned hips and the aft side with the propulsion unit in it. It looks like it is made out of a single piece of metal, but from what you learned from the structures outside, they are probably fused on a molecular level.

"Nice lines" Chiraq intercedes .

"Yes, yes indeed. But I wonder how they did this. There are no visible seams, it looks like it is made of a single piece of metal and look, no turret mounds or missile bays that I can see."

"Now you mention it, that does look kind of strange. The drone ships do have turrets, and a few bits more added to their hull. Let me get a picture of one of the drone ships for comparison." He reaches into his satchel and gets out his datapad, quickly browsing to the directory with all the pictures and film on the drone ships and selects one of the smaller ships, zooms in and holds it up next to the ship in the hangar.

"Can you see the differences? Look at how those turrets are built into the hull and how there is a bulge at the bottom."

"That must be where the AI is. Instead of a pod with the pilot in there, there is this added bulge with the AI computers, but the space where the pod is usually seated is probably also filled with additional computers."

"Yes, but I suspect the scientists would be able to answer that question in time."

"Unfortunately they will probably cut up these ships won't they?"

"Probably, but they will do it for science" Chiraq replies with a smirk.

"Bah, I think it is a waste of a nice ship, I would love to fly one."

"So would I, but I doubt it is safe just yet. Perhaps later we would be allowed to."

"And here I thought you were the boss."

"True, but I have higher powers to answer to as well, just like everyone else."

"Too bad, so shall we continue to explore and look at the bigger ships?" you reply with a smile.

"Heck, let’s just do that." Four hours later you and Chiraq find yourself hungry. The beautiful ships can no longer disguise the growls of hunger coming from your stomach.

"I need some food, and I got no snacks left."

"Me too, let's head back to the command post and see what culinary surprises the marines can dish us out." Chiraq replies as he's heading for the elevator. Minutes later you enter the command post, with an anxious squad leader.

"Where were you?" he asks Chiraq.

"Out in the second hangar, as you should have remembered, what's the problem?"

"There was a major incident at one of the upper levels."

"What kind of incident?"

"Apparently one of the scientists got severely wounded by an automated defense system."

"Automated defense system? What did he try to do?"

"He tried to open up one of the doors, two floors up from here."

"And how did he try to open the doors?"

"Err, well.... with an explosive charge, to be honest."

"What!!! Didn't I order that no explosives are to be used around here?"

"Yes you did sir, but..."

"No buts, where is this failure?"

"He's in the main hangar sir, he's being treated for his wounds."

"Well he's going to have more in just a minute" Chiraq shouts as he briskly walks towards the elevator.

"Squad leader, do you have some food for me and him" pointing at the closing elevator door.

"Sure, sure, sergeant, get him some food and also some for Chiraq"

"Yes sir."

A minute later you are holding two large plates with real army food on it. It's hot, it's spicy, and you cannot identify from what it is made because the spices cover all the taste. You head down and as you reach the main hangar you can hear Chiraq shouting at the group of scientists standing there.

"You bunch of incompetent fools. Was I not quite clear with my orders? No explosives. None whatsoever, if we can get in through the front door we will not have to destroy anything because we have enough time to figure out how to get in or around things in here. And now you" he points his finger angrily at a man lying on a stretcher with bandaged head and arms, "you would be executed if it were up to me, but killing you is apparently not allowed. So I will have you clean up the mess hall for the next twelve months, and every bit of demeaning work I can find for you to do."

"But sir, I was ordered to do this" the wounded scientist replies, cowering from the tirade that Chiraq is giving him.

"Ordered by whom?" Chiraq replies, still furious.

"Ordered by me" the lead scientist steps forward, an arrogant smile creasing his face.

"You ordered this? Contradicting my orders?"

"Yes I did, and I have every right to do so" the arrogant scientist replies.

"Well, well, well. Squad leader?"

"Yes sir" you look back to see that the squad leader has followed you down.

"Take this man into custody and get him of this station. Take him to our home station and confine him to the brig."

"Yes sir. Sergeant! Make it happen." Quickly the lead scientist is grabbed by the shoulders, his arrogant smile replaced with a face full of genuine surprise.

"But you can't do this to me, do you know who I am?" the scientist shrieks.

"I know full well who you are, but apparently you have no idea who I am. When I give an order, I expect everyone to follow it, which I made quite clear when I was recruiting you. I also explained to all of you what would happen if you didn't follow those orders."

"But, but, but" the scientist starts "but I am making the biggest archeological discovery here in hundreds or even thousands of years.

"Then why are you trying to blow it up? You are endangering everything we are working for and even put one of your scientists in danger, not even having the guts to do it yourself. No, you're finished here, and after we've broken the silence on this project, if that will ever happen, I will make sure that everyone in the community knows what you tried to do and why. Sergeant, get this miserable person out of my face and on his way to the brig."

"Yes sir" the sergeant replies, taking a better hold of the arm and shoulder of the scientist and pulls him away. The scientist is still stammering that he is the best there is, that this isn't allowed and that he has rights. In the meanwhile Chiraq turns to the other scientists. "Now let that be a lesson for you all. If I give an order such as not to blow anything up, you will follow it. I don't care if you have fifty years of experience in the field or if you wrote the book on Yan Jung archaeology . We will take our time in discovering the secrets of this station, and do it properly. Where is Riallon?"

"Here sir" a thin man speaks up and walks toward Chiraq.

"Good, I thought I saw you around earlier. Do you mind taking over the responsibilities of Orphean as lead scientist for the Ancient Section?"

"Well that's an honor sir, I would love to do so."

"Ok that's taken care of then. I will make it official as soon as I return to our own station." With that said, Chiraq turns around, and walks towards the elevator. With a few steps you close the distance and present him the plate with food.

"Here you go."

"Thanks, I needed that." You see the Sergeant, Ferrier and Simmons walk towards you. You nod in their direction and say to Ferrier.

"I changed my mind on the tech 2 version of the Atron. I have something else in mind." You continue to relay the things that happened this morning until the recent events.

"What happened precisely? Did I understand correctly that one of the scientists tried to blow up a door or something?" the Sergeant asks Chiraq.

"Yes he did, the idiot, on orders of that even bigger idiot Orphean, and as a result the automated defenses came online and tried to shoot him. At least that is what he tells me" Chiraq replies.

"I find that hard to believe. Wouldn't there sound alarms and wouldn't the other defense systems be online as well and attacking us on the spot?"

"Perhaps you got a point, would you and your ensigns check that out?

"Sure, we'll do that, it will give us a change to discover what this station is like."

"Right, I have to return to our own station in order to fix this mess that Orphean has created. I will be back tomorrow, if you want to you can stay here for the night."

"No thanks, I just got used to my new bed at home station. We will return tonight and head back out here tomorrow morning."

"Fine by me" Chiraq replies as he starts walking toward the squad leader.

You lead the other three towards the elevator. "You want to see the blast site or do you want to see something really cool first?" you ask the Sergeant.

The Sergeant takes a look at you and replies: "Well I can see you can hardly contain yourself ensign, so I think we should look at the cool things first." Without a hesitation you press the number for the second hangar you have been exploring all morning. A minute later you have positioned the others on the best spot so they can see everything when the lights go on. With a touch on the panel you enter the last character to turn on the lights and there they are, rows and rows of ships, frigates, cruisers and battleships. You touch Ferrier on the shoulder: "Now do you understand why I don't want a tech 2 ship? I want one of these."

"I can see that, these are beautiful, but nothing like the drone ships. They don't have the bulge at the bottom side if I remember correctly."

"True, Chiraq noticed that as well."

After thirty minutes of admiring the ships the Sergeant calls you back to order. "These are truly magnificent, though I don't know how they'll fly and until it is proven that they will work with our pods, they're not going anywhere. Let's head to the blast site of that scientist idiot."

"Right sir" you reply and the four of you start walking towards the elevator. You run your fingers over the console and turn off the lights again. "But they sure are pretty."

The Sergeant gets some gadgets from the marine squad leader and you get back in the elevator, this time going up two levels. You fear that the entire hallway is covered in blood and soot from both the scientist and the blast, but there isn't a mark to be found. Nothing to show there was an explosion whatsoever. The Sergeant checks with the squad leader.

"You sure it was on this level? There is not a scratch on the wall, floor or ceiling, not to mention any blood at all."

"I'm sure Sergeant, but I will send the marine that carried the scientist from that precise spot." A few moments later you are joined by a bewildered marine.

"There is nothing left here, no marks, no smoke, not even the bloodied rags I used to stem the blood. Did anyone clean this up?" the marine asks the Sergeant.

"Who do I look like, the cleaning bot? I sure didn't do anything and neither did these grunts here."

"Sergeant, don't you find it clean on the entire station, no dust anywhere, so there must be some cleaning robots around."

"That's a good idea Ferrier, let’s put it to the test" the Sergeant replies. "Here are some energy bars and a piece of string. Let's see what happens if I put this on the ground." The Sergeant drops his trash and moves away. Nothing is happening, you wait for a minute, a few minutes more and still nothing. Finally you give up.

"This is not going to work Sergeant, nothing is happening."

"Don't be so hasty grunt, a bit more patience." A few more minutes pass as nothing is happening. You walk along the corridor to find out what is behind the doors. The translation is rough but a placard at the beginning of the corridor suggests that this section is filled with import and export companies. This explains why it is so close to the hangars. Probably also why there is a defense system in place, to protect the owners of the business from thieves. You didn't expect the Yan Jung to have a similar attitude towards people and stuff as the current people of the universe have. You shake of the thought, better not classify the Yan Jung in the same category as the Amarr, Minmatar, Caldari or even the Gallente. Besides, those scientist have shown that the translation they made aren’t always up to scrap. There could be a weapons platform behind those doors, not import and export. You turn back, place your hand on the wall and door, nothing moves, no sounds, no defense turrets spring up, nothing. Then the Sergeant starts laughing and you turn to face him. With a big smile he is pointing at a small square box that is hovering over the bits of paper and string the Sergeant placed in the middle of the hallway.

“Look at it go, better than a cleaning bot on our station I should say.” The five of you stare at the cleaning bot, who is not bothered by you looking over his shoulder, picks up the last bit of paper and moves towards the wall. A small section of the wall slides to the side to let the bot back in and then closes again, leaving no trace of a room.

“That is some fine engineering, you can’t see the seam where the sliding door has been.” Ferrier says.

“Indeed, but I still wonder how it got the stains of soot and blood of the wall” the marine replies. “It was all over the place, and also the damage to the door has been repaired.”

With your hand on the door you say “this door? This door doesn’t even have a scratch on it, not even the piece of paper is damaged.”

“I’m absolutely sure what I have seen here, Sir! The door was ruined and two meters on both sides were stained with soot. Besides, I dragged the scientist away through this corridor and the blood from his wounds have also disappeared.”

“Don’t worry marine, I believe you” the Sergeant replies, resting his hand on the shoulder of the marine. “I think the bot we have seen is just one of many, and probably specialized robots that can not only clean but also repair damage. I think the sensors must have seen one of the scientists place that card there and decided it must be replaced as well. That’s why the station is in such good nick, and there is no dust or damage anywhere. Just if it’s brand new, which it probably is, just replaced many times over.”

“But how do you explain the wall then Sergeant” Simmons asks.

“I think it is the same process as with the repairing of the damaged wall, some repair nanites and gone is the damage.”

“That makes sense, now can we open the door?”

“You can try Ferrier, but I think there is some additional security in place. I think we need to crack that first” you reply. The next couple of hours are filled with trying different ways to open the door. Fingerprints, codes, talking, whistling, combinations of those, even shouting doesn’t help you at all. The door stays firmly closed. Finally the Sergeant throws up his hands in frustration;

“This thing will not open today, let’s explore a bit further down this corridor and then head back to the station.”

“Ok” the four of you reply.

“Good, then we can have some extra training tonight, so you’ll be fresh and sharp tomorrow” the Sergeant replies with a grin. A collective sigh is heard through the hallway and the marine that stuck around watches you with mild contempt.

“Afraid of a bit of exercise sirs?” he asks.

“A bit of exercise?” Simmons almost jumps at the man. “A bit of exercise, he? I’m curious if you could even keep going for ten minutes under the torture of the Sergeant.”

“Keep it cool sir, I’m a marine you know, we train all our lives, every day” the marine replies gently.

“Sergeant, can we take him along on the exercises?”

“Sure Simmons, you can have him, let’s see if the marines are as tough as they claim. One thing though, if he keeps up with you lot, then I will be forced to increase the number of exercises and toughen you up a bit more.”

“We’ll see Sergeant, I think this marine will be puking out his guts after 15 minutes with you.” Ferrier replies. “I’ll take it up with his squad leader.”

Silently the five of you walk along the corridor trying every door along the way, all of them are closed unfortunately. After 500 meters there are another set of elevators. There are no descriptions of the scientists on where they are going and you look at the Sergeant. “Shall we go up a deck or two to find out what’s there?”

“Ah well” the Sergeant hesitates, but his curiosity takes over “sure why not, let’s go to the top, if possible.” With a push on the topmost button the doors start closing, a soft jolt makes you aware that the elevator is moving, but after that nothing else. Minutes pass and then there is another jolt announces that the elevator has reached its destination.

“Ok guys, be prepared, don’t break anything so the scientists won’t be upset, much” the Sergeant says. The marine responds in drawing out his pistol and knife and crouches down a bit to make him less of a target. Shaking your head you wait until the doors open and you can step out.

“It’s bloody dark in here” Simmons starts.

“Is there a console just like in the hangar?” you ask.

“Let me check” Simmons replies as he switches his torch on. You switch on yours as the Sergeant, Ferrier and the marine follow suit.

“I think this is it” you hear Ferrier say, standing next to a console 10 meters away. Quickly you head over there and start studying the pictograms on the console. Quickly you recognize the same symbol on the console as you used to turn on the lights in the Hangar. “This should be it” you say to the others as you press the button. Suddenly the entire room is lit up, huge lamps are placed on columns, set in a square in the center, radiating their light to all the corners. Another set of lights is placed in the walls spaced out a meter apart. Apart from the four columns near the center, there is nothing there. No chairs, tables, anything, it’s just a large room with four columns in it. The room is huge, bigger even than the Hangar. Vault like 200 meters squared. No support columns for the ceiling which you guess is at forty meters up.

“Unbelievable, what a room, such space with practically nothing in it.” Ferrier says, as he is walking to one of the columns. “Hey look at this” he says as his hands run along the column. “There is writing on these things.” You look up from the console.

“Get Aura to do a translation” you say without looking up. “Aura, can you also take a look at these?” “I already have” Aura replies.

“I know, but what does this one mean” you reply as you point towards a pictogram which looks like a square with for vertical stripes and a single horizontal stripe off center of the bottom square.

“I think it has to do with the ceiling” Aura replies “don’t you want to know how to fill this room with chairs and tables?”

“You can do that?”

“Sure, how many do you want to be placed here?”

“Twenty chairs and five tables should be enough for now, don’t you agree?”

“Let’s see, you have to push the button with the chair and table figure on it, the upside down four and the t shape.”

“Ok found them and then?”

“On the right side of the console there is a sort of number pad, press the twentieth button from the top down, right to left.” As you figure this out, you finally press the right button and a chime lets you know that the command has been accepted.

“What are you doing” the Sergeant says when he walks back from the columns.

“Aura told me how to get some chairs and tables in here.” As you show the Sergeant which buttons you pressed.

“So, where are they then?”

“I haven’t got a clue” you reply. “Perhaps when the Yan Jung left, they took the chairs and tables with them.”

“Don’t be silly, they are being manufactured as we speak” Aura interrupts. “Everything is created from scratch if it is needed. And if you don’t need it, it is reprocessed into its base atoms, easier for storage.” A soft sound makes you turn around, a piece of 2 by 1 meter wall slides away and a large robot hovers in with a number of chairs in his robotic arms. A second robot follows him with a couple of tables.

“Ah, there they are. You see ‘Ye of little faith’ there it is. Brand new chairs and tables, especially made for you, based on blueprints of the Yan Jung, a couple of thousands of years old.” Aura replies smugly.

“Well we’ll try them out, but have you figured out what the ceiling button does?” you say trying to take Aura down a peg or two.

“It has to do with the ceiling and as far as I can understand with the sky, but out here in space that is nonsense of course.”

“Ah heck, let’s just try It” as you press the button before the Sergeant can stop you. A pinkish red hue spreads out across the ceiling, just like the force field of the hangar. As soon as it covers the entire ceiling there are a couple of changes in the emitter, making the forcefield losing its color. Right after that, accompanied by the chime of the console the ceiling starts to slide to a side until you can look up at the nearby asteroids and stars. There is a lot of chatter coming from the radio, apparently a pilot on the outside freaked out as a part of the structure opened up.

“Aura, quickly put that pilot at ease, no need to start shooting just yet, and perhaps get one of the scientists up here as well.” You walk towards the table and take one of the chairs. It looks a bit strange, and as soon as you take your seat you feel it move underneath you.

“What’s that?” you ask no-one in particular.

“That is the chair adjusting to your body” Aura replies.

“Cool, what else can it do?”

“I think that is just about it, if you lean back though I’m quite sure the chair will become a reclining chair, so you can look up at the ceiling. The table on the other hand is quite special, it’s got an integrated console in there with almost the same functionality as the main console.”

“You don’t say” Simmons replies as he takes a chair and immediately reclines so he can look up at the stars and asteroids.

Both the marine and the Sergeant are more interested in the tables and the consoles on them. With a little help from Aura they are able to get something to drink. A robot, smaller than those who brought in the chairs and tables rides up to the table and deposits a glass with a clear liquid. Both the marine and the Sergeant start sniffing the fluid. Taking out their scanners and scan the liquid and the glass.

“This is just a normal glass and pure H2O” the marine concludes.

“Indeed, wanna take a sip?”

“Sure why not” the marine replies to the Sergeant. Without a second thought he picks up the glass and takes a large swallow. “Mmm nice, but it could be a bit colder, any chance of ordering a glass with some ice cubes in it?”

“Let’s see, Aura which button do I press to get a glass with ice cubes?”

“You have to press the blue icon with the box in it with the rounded corners.”

“Ok, and what button do I press for number five?”

“The sixth button from the right, on the numeric keys.”

“Ok grunts, get your water here, nice and cool” the Sergeant shouts to you and the others when the robot has arrived with the glasses.

“Is this safe?” Ferrier asks.

“Sure it is, it’s just a glass with some water and ice cubes in it.”

While waiting on the scientists you sip you water and stare up at the sky. An Atron pilot has parked his ship just in front of the forcefield. It’s a strange sight, him looking down, you looking up, separated only by a thin layer that protects you from the harshness of space. Then the scientists arrive, a bit flustered at what you have been doing, as they see it as their prerogative to be the first to enter any room and determine what it is for.

“Why didn’t you wait before doing this?” a scientist asks as you explain to him what the buttons are for and what you did. The scientist is also surprised by the conclusion that everything that is requested is made new and that everything else is broken down into their atoms as soon as it is discarded by the owners. As soon as the scientists have taken over, making sure that the water you drank is absolutely non-toxic, the five of you leave the room in order to get back to the hangar to pick up your ship and head back to your quarters in the Ancients Section.
