Summary

Many players have complained that over the years, various game changes such as the hitpoint buff of Revelations 1 and the contemporaneous ECM nerf have left Autocannon Tempest and Maelstrom pilots gimped. Dual 425mm Autocannons (the lowest tier turret) are generally agreed to be on par, but as tiers ascend, the gains in range and damage simply are not significant, giving little reason to fit them in a PvP environment that becomes more and more focused on Amarr and Gallente battleships, with the addition of the Typhoon, which generally does not rely on Autocannons for most of its damage.
