Tackling

As listed in the Glossary - Pinning down an enemy with Warp Jammer/Scrambler or Webifier until reinforcements arrive. This can be accomplished by several types of ships.

Frigates

These ships are cheap, disposable, and purpose suited for light tackling. This type of tackling is usually in support of a larger fleet, allowing a quick ship to initially grab the fleeing ship until heavier ships can get a lock on. If you fly a frigate tackler, you will lose a lot of ships, but your ratio of damage in isk will be far greater. The cost of losing a 150k Isk ship is greatly outweighed by the damage to the enemy at losing a 40 million Isk ship. These are the most common in factional warfare groups.

Interceptors

Interceptors are kings of fast tackling. Some use their great speed to avoid damage while circling their targets outside of webbing and heavy NOS range. Ideal against individual targets with larger weapons, many people bring five Warrior drones or fit fast missiles to drive these opponents off. These types of ships are the most common in 0.0 or against war targets in high traffic areas.

Interdictors

Interdictor's ability to launch warp disruption bubbles is critical for keeping 0.0 gates secure. The ability to move the location of the bubble, or fit two launchers, enable the light weight ship to catch ships on both sides of a gate, enabling their gang to kill the target.

Heavy Interdictors

The strength of the heavy interdictor's tank along with the distance of the warp field that it makes it ideal for tackling of multiple capital ships. When fitted with a script, the infinite warp strength gives the target ship no where to go. These are commonly solo ships in low sec space.

See Glossary for it's entry.
