Ever since Opiboble was a kid walking around the station listening to the Pilots talking of there latest encounters in space he wanted to go out there with them. At the age of 18 he signed up for the classes to become a "POD" Pilot. At that time he had no clue what to expect, like most others who where in his class.
After the first month of basic ship structer and space physics they went for the surgery that would brand them as "POD" pilots. It was a very painfull procedurer, basicly they had to put data jacks all over your skull and down your spine to your shoulderblades
