Alliance History

The Wildly Inappropriate alliance name originated in World of Warcraft with a clan named Wildly Inappropriate. Some of the members in WOW eventually went to EVE and created the WI. alliance in EVE

The beginnings of WI. in EVE came after the fall of Destiny Alliance in North Deklein. Three corporations, RCM, Draconic Industries, and Gladiators of Rage broke off and formed another alliance in empire. Before long, RCM and DI had merged and along with GLD, joined Celestial Frontier in Fade. Fade was soon taken by Red Alliance however and with another split, Are Cee Emm [ACE.] was formed from DI and ACE, DI, and GLD formed the alliance of Wildly Inappropriate. (Which was created by Kat VonHeise)

WI then rented the station system of 1ix from Razor and it as from this system in Branch, the door to Deklein, that Wildly Inappropriate started to grow. For several months WI was relatively inactive. After a conflict with Goodfellas however, WI relocated most of its pvp division into ROIR to help the NC against BOB, now Kenzoku. With the defeat of BOB, the NC pulled back, annihilated Goodfellas and the region of Deklein was taken by TCF, a new northern coalition member at the time.

With the new security of branch ensured, WI began to grow exponentially and, while there were some minimal growing pains, was soon able to purchase the station system of 1ix and through diplomacy gained control of several constellations in Branch. Around this time, WI also dropped several new stations in branch and claimed capital sovereignty, further ensuring its place as a major space holding alliance in EVE. The campaign in Geminate is the most recent page in Wildly Inappropriate's history.

Major Conflicts

Goodfellas and WI Growing Pains

With the fall of Pure and their retreat from Deklein, a power vacuum existed, that power vacuum was then filled by the now defunct GBC alliance Goodfellas. With a hostile alliance holding space so close to 1ix, and NC space in general, it was inevitable that hostilities would begin. They did, and swiftly. While the entire NC was active in the area around ROIR fighting BOB's MAX campaign, Goodfellas was able to operate at will in Deklein and began attacking Wildly Inappropriate.

GF routinely sent roams into Branch space and for 23/7 1ix and the surrounding regions were camped by afk cloakers and hostile gangs. Even though severely outnumbered and on the defensive, WI still initiated an offensive against GF. With tenacity rarely seen, WI undertook a late night operation and dropped several Deathstars in Goodfellas space and maintained an alliance fleet for many hours while the towers were being secured.

As audacious as the attack was, it only served to stall Goodfellas attacks against Branch and within about a week, the towers were destroyed. WI was again on its heels against the onslaught of GF backed by other hostile alliances. While WI was outnumbered and, at the time, outgunned, its actions did serve a very important purpose: taking GF ships off the GBC/NC front line. During several battles against BOB, GF had to move their ships from the front into Deklein space and defend against WI, hampering the MAX campaign's offensive capability.

While the MAX campaign was powerful, the GBC proved to be no match for the combined forces of the Northern Coaltion and was soon beaten back. With the return of the NC forces, GF was on borrowed time. Having been on its heels for most of the campaign, WI was now bolstered by the entire NC as well as a soon to be NC entity, Tau Ceti Federation.

Goodfellas lost their space as quickly as they took it. Faced with the Northern Coalition, GF was beaten down and cascaded into failure. Towers were sieged, stations disabled, and within no time the space was occupied by a new Northern Coalition entity: Tau Ceti Federation. The north's space was once again secure, and Wildly Inappropriate survived the most perilous time in it's history to emerge stronger and more capable.

Geminate Campaign

Spring 2009 saw the first major Wildly Inappropriate only offensive campaign against another alliance. With their sights set on United Freemen Alliance [UFA] WI undertook a massive logistics operation and, within a couple days, moved their entire combat force to a staging area inside NPC space in Geminate.

The offensive began with fervor with several UFA fleets engaged and destroyed and several POS reinforced. While WI. acted alone in its conquest against UFA, the forces of Ad Astra were temporarily NAPed as they were also enemies of UFA, although there were no joint operations between the two alliances. The campaign was going swiftly and smoothly when political negotiations stalled the campaign and a request was made by the NC high command to help deal with the forces of Ethereal Dawn and Intrepid Crossing, while sorting out other diplomatic matters with KIA alliance, the primary holders of Geminate at the time. This resulted in the side campaign against ED and IRC.

Ethereal Dawn and Intrepid Crossing on the peripherals

The campaign against ED and IRC came about when the NC high command asked foir a solution to the problem of ED and IRC, namely that the two alliances were attacking Red Alliance, a close ally of Goonswarm and an important member in the coalition against Kenzoku alliance in the south. RED was tasked with attacking -A- and taking the pressure off the other coalition forces in the south. However, ED and IRC began attacking RED and took their attention away from their primary goals. It was then that WI, Majesta Empire, and Initiative. offerd the solution, an offense against ED and IRC to remove the pressure and help the larger campaign.

WI once again, with it incredible logistcs ability, relocated their entire PVP force and began another front of the larger campaign. With the combined forces of WI, ME, and INI, as well as RED, ED and IRC were on the defensive within a few days. Having suffered the loss of two motherships and a titan in only a few days, ED and IRC were quickly on their heels and the objective was accomplished: RED was once again on the offensive.

Geminate Campaign Conclusion

With their attention once again on the region of Geminate, and all diplomacy between their allies and KIA sorted, WI. went on the offensive again against UFA and this time there was no reprieve. Having lost 600 of their over 1000 members in the time since the beginning of the WI. Campaign, UFA were severely weakened.

The final push came around midnight eastern time when a fleet of at first 60, and ultimately over 100 WI members were fleeted and assembled. They quickly took down the cyno jammer in K25, the UFA home system, with Remote Repair Battleships. With the cyno jammer down, WI immediately cynoed in their entire cap fleet and began reinforcing tower after tower. With more then half of their towers reinforced with limited resistance, UFA offered terms of surrender. The skirmish lasted all through the evening and, by the next morning post downtime, k25 station was secured and in WI's control. Amazingly, all this occurred at what was supposed to be a downtime for WI, emphasizing the versatility of this new alliance in EVE. This marked the end of the Geminate campaign with an official CAOD surrender by UFA.

Triumvirate Campaign in Pure Blind

The middle of May 2009 saw WI being deployed against a resurgent Triumvirate. TRI, along with White Noise and some other allies formed the WTF coalition and began attacking NC r64 moons. Their goal seemed not to be to take space, but instead to take the high end NC moons and coax the NC into a fight.

Whether or not Kenzoku and allies had requested TRI's help in creating a diversion in the north to reduce the pressure in the south is not known. However, the outcome would have been the same no matter what Kenzoku or WTF's intentions were. MM were recalled from the south of Querious to defend their homeland of Tribute, which WTF were pressuring along with Pure Blind.

Morsus Mihi's recall was the nail in the coffin for WTF however as they quickly put hundreds of ships on the field along with WI allies as well as IRON, Majesta, and others. TRI lost most of the r64 in a short time after WI deployment into Tribute, but continued to attack the NC moons even after they lost them. This, combined with a massive loss of capitals, especially dreads, in one engagement put TRI and the WTF coalition on their heels. After the cap loss, White Noise was a rare occurence in battles with their alleged allies. Eventually the NC rallied in force and removed all the remaining TRI r64 moons and WI. pulled back to Geminate to defend the region. TRI continues to aggression against the north.

Solar Fleet Invasion

In securing its new region of Geminate, Wildly Inappropriate. attacked a Solar Fleet sov 3 system, cfyy, in a bid to secure their new region. The next morning, after reinforcing the tower, Solar Fleet began its attack on the sov 2 Geminate coore system of K25. This was the beginning of an ongoing and vicious struggle to secure k25 and protect the rest of Geminate from Solar incursion.

Fielding superior numbers of capitals and at least 3 Titans, Solar Fleet held an offensive advantage while WI. held a defensive advantage of all towers secured with POS and equivalent support numbers - as well as allies. In one early morning Russian time op, SF reinforced all towers in K25. Through valient effort by WI., none were yet lost to this attack. However, while unanchoring one tower in k25, SF spies notified their leaders and swiftly put up their own tower before WI. could anchor their own. This gave a great tactical advantage to SF and they quickly jumped in their caps to k25 during russian primetime, a time when the mostly US and EU alliance WI. could not muster a substantial defense, and logged them off in their POS. This allowed them to maintain a substantial capital presence in K25 even after the Cyno Jammer was anchored when WI. reached Sov 3 in k25 only days later.

A ping-pong tower war began over the 7 moons in K25 which lasted many days, with WI. towers being reinforced and Solar Fleet towers being reinforced, only to be repaired the next day. One substantial loss however was the WI. loss of two towers due to poorly timed stront, allowing the Russian timed Solar Fleet to down two towers and replace them with their own. This put the tower count to 4 - 3 in favor of WI. This same ratio was maintained for many days with WI. allies of Majest Empire and Initiative both offering BS and support to help their close friend and ally Wildly Inappropriate fend off SF.

Even though Solar Fleet outnumbered WI. in capitals, Wildly Inappropriate nevertheless engaged their enemies in a capital slug fest. While WI. losses were slightly higher than Solar losses, considering how outnumbered WI. forces were, they did remarkably well and help their ground, eventually holding the field.

With the campaign down south drawing to a close, and Solar FLeet hostilities in the North continuing, it was decided that Solar Fleet's playtime in Geminate was over. Wildly Inappropriate, joined by Razor, Morsus Mihi and Majesta Empire reinforced all the Solar towers in K25 and swiftly destroyed them the following day. Solar was completely removed from K25. Wildly Inappropriate never lost K25 sovereignty.

After the successful defense of Geminate against the Solar Fleet enemy, Wildly Inappropriate began a "cleanup" operation in Geminate. This operation focused on removal of all non-allied towers and forces. This operation continues to this day with little resistance.

Wildly Inappropriate Logistics

While establishing a name for itself, WI. was quickly noticed for its logistics capability. While still a relatively new alliance, the NC as well as WI. members and allies noticed their remarkable ability to move ships from their systems in Branch all across the EVE universe. Currently, WI is deployed as combat capable in three regions, Geminate, Querious, and Tribute. Several corps and individuals manage the logistics for the entire alliance and move rigged as well as packaged ships across all of new Eden, always within days.

In one instance, when WI was requested to deploy in Tribute to fight TRI and WTF almost the entire WI. combat force had their BS fitted and moved to tribute in under 48 hours - hundreds of pilots and their gear, relocated to defend allies and attack enemies in a remarkably short time span.

The logistical capability was noticed and has become a hallmark of the Wildly Inappropriate alliance.
