Caldari Navy Hookbill
The Caldari Navy Hookbill is one of the more forgiving options for new Caldari pilots looking to mission run or belt rat. The ship bonus to shield amount helps give an added margin of error for those inexperienced in shield tanking or mission running.
Additionally, the shield HP bonus (as opposed to the resistance bonuses seen on most other Caldari ships) opens several interesting options. The bonus stacks with any shield extenders and similar rigs, allowing you to fit an impressive passive shield tank for a frigate, with more raw shield HP than most cruisers. With some work, a Medium Shield Extender II can be fitted to the ship, adding on a base 1050 base shield HP, before the bonus the Hookbill provides. This means you can have more shields at a base than a Caracal, before any skill bonuses are applied.
