Mission Statement
Our primary objectives are to reside in null space, build up and maintain our alliance space, defend our home and neighboring allies, and profit from military missions, industrial operations, and tactical explorations. Our secondary objective is to have fun and work together in achieving our primary objective.
The foundation of SMX was built from gritty vets spilling blood, sweat and tears since March of 2008. We are a sturdy crew of highly skilled U.S. based pilots looking to have fun and spread our fierce wrath across the gaming universe. We understand real-life comes first and are happy to make accomadations to anyone needing time for family, friends, or just a casual break. We welcome all developing and established pilots to join in helping achieve our goals... and maintain our prowess.
History
SMX 1.0 - Faction War Corp
(March 2008 - March 2009)
SMX was formed on March 22, 2008 as a stepping stone for their then sister corp The Knights Templar. It began as a training tool for lesser skilled members who did not meet the minimum requirements to apply for T-K-T. A place where they could practice, learn ship setups, and obtain fleet tactics in the Caldari/Gallente war. It was quite successful and fun, so fun... few members wanted to leave. The corp grew under exceptional leadership to become a valued Faction War corp. After a while, new Eve patches brought forth new explorations and innovated technology, all of which were determined to be explored by SMX... so we journeyed on past Faction War to welcome our new adventures in unknown wormspace.
SMX 2.0 - Wormspace Alliance
(March 2009 - October 2009)
To become a force in wormhole space, we created an alliance called Novus Ordo Mundio (New World Order). MUNDI was the first alliance of it's kind... being Eve's first official wormhole alliance. SMX led up the alliance and was soon accompanied by many others. We reached our peak membership, nearing 500 pilots. Our tactics were honed against the Sleeper rats... we setup towers inside wormspace... lived among our peers... and managed a tech 3 production line with fair success. However, the ride did not last long as some members were striven for more. An offer to join and assist our former sister corp T-K-T in the creation of R.A.G.E alliance was presented. The decision to help divided the corp, as some members were satisfied with wormspace and wanted to grow in tech 3 development... others knew that seeking 0.0 space and once again aligning with T-K-T in a new pvp cored alliance was the best move and next logical step to make SMX grow even stronger.
SMX 3.0 - Developing PvP Corp
(October 2009 - January 2011)
On October 26, 2009 SMX joined R.A.G.E and put forth their corp next to T-K-T to help them align in numbers as the leader of their freshly staffed alliance. Formed mainly from ex-Pure corps, R.A.G.E wanted to put aside alliance politics and create a hardcore, high-skilled group, specializing in tactical fleet compositions and focusing on the fun pvp side of Eve. SMX changed several of their own internal policies to support R.A.G.E's motives... and stood tall as a lean, mean machine among already established corps and pilots. SMX made gains, did exactly what was told of them, and went far beyond their own expectations to eventually rise up and lead all of R.A.G.E in kills per member and logistical support... month after month after month. We built up a capital ship program, had plans for a new station, and were even preparing a super-cap production scheme... however, that wasn't enough for R.A.G.E leadership. They slowly fell victim to Eve politics, and lost track of their initial intentions... R.A.G.E became Pure... member's became slaves to fatten alliance wallets... leaders became ego driven... and overall the alliance, which made great strides and many accomplishments, lost touch of their core. Sadly, pvp based corps started to leave, as their accomplishments and honor now meant very little to R.A.G.E.... SMX followed.
We joined as a small core of dedicated adventures, and left as their top pvp corp. Due to the constant changes in policies from R.A.G.E's leadership, broken promises, mismanagement, and their change in style and structure, SMX felt the best option was to leave for a newer perspective.
SMX 4.0 - Established PvP Corp
(January 2011 - February 2011)
A new year... a new alliance... a new frontier. SMX settled into their new home with Gentleman's Agreement on January 13, 2011 to help in the engagement against IT. Anxious and excited, the future didn't last long, as a quite "borderline sociopath" alliance leadership led to some really strange rules and regulations.... feelings were hurt, not to mention our initial recruitment promises were all broken and SMX left to let the little children grow up. The experience has led to new terminology... as in "Don't make me go Lake on ya!"
SMX 4.1 - Established PvP Corp
(February 2011 - August 2011)
We joined up with the Important Internet Spaceship League after their impressive showing during the Fountain Campaign. As peacetime settled in, we mingled pleasantly with the other members of the alliance. Our continual patrols of Serpentis Prime lead to an all-time low in enemy activity but peace never lasts in EVE. Up north, the DRF continued to grind closer and closer to Goonswarm while, in the south, Refugees from the shattered NC chipped away at our allies. Faced with having to help the coalition on two fronts, BDEAL had to make a choice and froze. Plagued by an irresolute leadership and weighed down by apathy for coalition matters, BDEAL remained still until forced to act by larger powers. SMX saw this and realized, after much discussion over alliance goals, that the fighting force we had joined no longer existed. We left BDEAL in an exodus with other fellow corporations to seek an alliance which favored the support of allies and nurtured corporation growth.
SMX 5.0 - Elite PvP Corp
(August 2011 - present)
Our exodus was noticed and welcomed by Fatal Ascension. With an alliance policy geared towards ensuring participation and sharing in both wealth and responsibilities, we settled in to help them solidify gains won through combat. These are the borders we guard now and we will guard them well...
