Kotan is a member of the Thukker Tribe and the leader of a protective force. His force was in charge of guarding a caravan that was traveling through the Great Wildlands when it encountered a Blood Raider ship captained by Antar. He quickly recognized that the Blood Raider ship was putting on a show and not actively trying to fight. This fact unnerved him. When the ship retreated, Kotan ordered most of his force back to the caravan, then sneakily followed behind the Blood Raider ship to figure out what it was up to.[1]
