Summary
Current attributes of blasters means the range of the gun is too short to be effective in almost any combat situation. Gallente ships are most affected by this, because they get to choose between blasters or railguns, both of which are the current most underpowered turrets.
Potential Solution
Increase range of blasters. I won't get too detailed in the math of the situation, but blasters need a range boost. the linked assembly hall thread has some suggested numbers.
Pros
- gallente become competitive again
Cons
- ccp might do what they tend to do with battleship turret boosts and make blasters the new overpowered thing, and not make any compensating changes for a year.
