I think we need to either open up what the links on the page link to for editing or need to include category listings for corporations in those organizations (both NPC and Player corporations.

Also I seem to be the only one commenting on these :( maybe I should start editing them!

Regarding the use of the phrase "World"

I'm assuming this article is the brainchild of CCP Ginger, but I was making some minor edits to sections that referenced "the whole world." I assume that its more accurate to say "the entire galaxy" or something along those lines. Other variations I'm using are "throughout all New Eden" "the New Eden Cluster" etc.

There's actually a suprising number of times the phrase "world" crops up. I did leave in one case where it said "the world of EVE" since that could be taken to mean "the digital realm of EVE."

Also, some categories are slightly out of date, I modified the ORE section to reflect the recent takeover by the Serpentis.

Regarding the ORE takeover by Serpentis, do you have the appropriate reference for the takeover? Please include it if you did; references help to validate changes.

Hi,
While I understand your eagerness, please dont edit these pages Dex, there still veyr much work in progress. Especially the text as it is drawn directly from the core text that we have (or used to have) on the website mate. I've rolled them back for the meantime. Cheers,
Ginger.

Oh and regarding world, you are correct, here is the styleguide for that (we'll form another page for that soon, atm its mainly playing around trying to get the style right).

acceptable IC references to the word “world” in a universal context are “New Eden” and “cluster” except in instances where characters are confined to a single planet. For example:

General Usage:

“Tibus Heth is among the most prolific figures in the world.” – Incorrect “Tibus Heth is among the most prolific figures in the cluster.” – Right-o “Tibus Heth is among the most prolific figures of New Eden.” – Yessiree

Isolated slaves:

“Our overlord is the biggest jerk in the world.” – Fine, if both actually happen to be standing on a planet.

Reason being, using the word “world” for in-context stuff breaks immersion because the reader either a) wonders which ‘world’, given then are over 5k of them, or b) thinks immediately of the “game” world, which we don’t want.

Sorry for jumping the gun on editing the sections, I should have figured that you were still working on it but I saw some typos and couldn't resist :)
Dex, the Serpentis ORE takeover appears to be an Aurora event from 2006 involving the NORAD alliance. There are several news posts but the gist of it can be seen in this news article:

Thanks for the information, it is important info in terms of defining the current power blocs in my opinion and something that should be addressed in the wiki (Serpentis, Angels, & ORE oh my). It is likely overlooked as part of the background, but could have a large effect; it also sets up nicely a Mordu's Legion vs Serpentis/Angels faction warfare across Outer Ring, but that is a different discussion.

Oh, and while I have your attention CCP Ginger, is there a style guideline for "Minmatars" vs "Matari"? I see several articles that refer to people of the Minmatar empire collectively as "Minmatars" which seems a bit jarring. Is "Matari" the correct way to refer to a group of Minmatar people?
--Alezra 22:57, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

There both valid terms, EVE is a huge place and different connotations come in. Minmatar is valid. i.e. "there goes a group of Minmatar". Minmatars is a bit wierd to my mind and Matari is also legit as its been used so much. Crept into the common language :)
