Kerrigan Orsha was an Amarrian Holder. Following the ascension of Empress Jamyl I, he berated her in a fiery speech in open court. In response, his own family renounced him. Despite being found guilty of heresy, the Empress spared his life on two conditions. First, he had the words of his outburst permanently tattooed on his body. Second, he retired to a convent to study the Scriptures for the rest of his life.[1]
