|FittingsPurpose=All purpose beginner solo battlecruiser class PvP ship.

|SkillInformation=Can fit with minimal skill (provided you do not use the T2 modules), but skills that improves gunnery, drones, shields, and propulsion will help out greatly.

|Hints=As a shield fitted PvP ship, you will have a much higher speed compared to a armor tanked ship. With that in mind, unless the opponent is carrying a stasis webifier to slow you down or are carrying an afterburner, against another battlecruiser class ship, you should be able to out speed them. Using your auto cannons' generous falloff range, you will have range flexibility nearly unmatched, striking anything up to 20km still with decent damage. A few notes in mind:
+
# '''Utility Slot'''
While the 2 spare top slots are filled with medium energy neutralizers, you are free to replace them with Heavy Assault Missile Launchers or Heavy Missile Launchers for an additional boost in DPS. The latter might be very hard to fit unless you have excellent fitting skills. You can also replace them with energy nosferatu (or 1 nos and 1 neut)if you feel like you need more capacitor or are expecting some energy neutralizing opponents.
+
# '''Tank Explanation'''
The 2 slot shield tank is optimized for maximum effective HP, but you are free to switch out the invulnerability field for another Large Shield Extender at the cost of losing 1,000 effective HP and increasing your signature radius by a bit (increases damage slightly). But by removing the invulnerability field, you can gain an extra minute or so with all modules running at the same time.
+
# '''Microwarpdrive Variations (Why didn't you use T2 MWD?)'''
The meta 3 microwarpdrive is for it's lower capacitor consumption. It has a higher maximum capacitor penalty than the Tech 2 variant, but the speed boost is still the same. If you expect to be running your microwarpdrive permanently, use the meta 3 variant. If you expect to be pulsing it instead, you are free to use the T2 variant for the larger capacitor (which would translate to more initial cap and slightly high cap regeneration rate).
+
# '''Can't fit T2 modules?'''
This build is nearly a full T2 build, but if you are unable to fit them, you are free to use T1 and named modules to replace them. In most cases, meta 1 modules has the lowest fitting requirements, while the meta 4 are very close if not equal in stats with their T2 brothers.
+
#'''Drone selection'''
Drones are free of your choosing. You can bring a full flight of light drones with a spare, or you can bring a flight of 4 light drones + 1 medium for maximum DPS. You can even change it out for a flight of electronic warfare drones (ECM and Webifer drones comes into mind). It all depends on what you want to fit for.
+
# '''Tackle Module Choices'''
While this build uses a short point (Warp scramblers are known as short points as it has the shorter scrambling range of the 2 warp scrambling modules), you are free to swap it out for a long point (warp disruptor) as this build, can hit up to 15km with long range ammo or 20km with Barrage. You will however, lose the ability to shut off their microwarpdrives (something only the warp scramblers can do) as well as warp disruptors being more fitting intensive (though they use lower capacitor).
Introduction

The hurricane, commonly called a 'cane, is a Minmatar battlecruiser. It is highly versatile and can be fit a variety of ways, although most pilots will want to take advantage of its two bonuses that increase medium projectile turret damage.
