Bombs, though extremely expensive, can deal battleship shattering blows, if launched correctly.

Types of bombs

There are three types of bombs, damage bombs, ECM bombs and capacitor draining bombs. Of the damage bombs there are four subtypes, one for each damage type. Each damage type bomb deals a single type of damage and is highly resist to its own damage type.

Usage

When launched a bomb flies for 10 seconds with the velocity of the ship that launched it, then detonate. A bomb explosion causes huge amounts of damage in a 15km radius sphere.

Exploding bombs damage and possibly destroy other bombs in flight. This prevents the use of different types of damage bombs to be deployed, but still allows multiple damage bombs of a single type to be used. As each bomb has high resistance to its own damage type, 99.5%, an "unskilled" bomb does 32 damage to other damage bombs of its own type. With 240 armor, about 7 bombs can be used simultaneously.

Properly deployed bombs can take out entire squadrons of ships. The only drawback is that you either need a fast and expensive ship to deploy it and get out fast, which would suffer because the enemy could kill it before sucessful launching, or a heavily tanked slow ship, which would need to be extremely close to the target. Obviously, if you launch a bomb and keep on course, the bomb travels on course with you and basically explodes less than a few millimeters from it, so to avoid that a ship has to turn completely around, which causes it to lose speed, and therefore becomes vulnerable. The pros of bombs is that for only a few million ISK, you can destroy entire squads of frigates or pop all but the most heavily tanked battleships.
