Raana is the mother of Selan and part of an Amarrian Holder house. She is married to Bater and is acquainted with Bethora.
Her son was killed in a race along with his partner, Bethora's son Keral. Raana blamed Bethora for his death, claiming that Bethora's overbearing ways caused Keral to use several disallowed rigs that led to the crash. In addition, Raana was aware that Bethora had cloned her son, despite such an act being forbidden by the doctrine of Sacred Flesh.[1]
