This is one of the hardest and most lucrative of the gas cloud sites found in Vale of the Silent. The site consists of a single large harvestable cloud of Amber Cytoserocin roughly 180km across. Around this are a number of large semi-complete drone structures.

Warning: This site is very difficult, and it is not recommended to attempt it in anything less than a heavily tanked battleship. The total damage is in excess of 1000 DPS. A dual repped & rigged Ishtar with 88% Explosive resists does it easily.

The total quantity of Amber Cytoserocin which can be extracted from this site is 9000 units, or 90,000 m^3.

Spawns

When you warp into the site you land at the centre of the gas cloud, and are immediately attacked by the Rogue drones:

Initial Wave

  • 8 Drone Sentry Towers

Second Wave

These enemies spawn and engage you as soon as you attack the sentry towers.

Group 1

These are about 80km away.

  • 4 Cruisers
  • 4 Battleships

Group 2

These are about 100km away in the opposite direction.

  • 4 Cruisers
  • 4 Battleships

Strategy

The best way to approach this site is to immediately attack the sentry towers, killing them as fast as possible. Once they are dead, start killing the drone ships as they come into range, starting with the closest first, and giving priority to killing the battleships. If the damage gets too high, you can warp out to repair since none of the enemies scramble. Once all the rats are dead, you are free to harvest the gas.

The best ship to use for this site is probably a Dominix or an Ishtar. Rogue Drones do roughly 55% Explosive damage and about 20% Kinetic and Thermal damage, the rest being EM.

Please note that the thermal blasts that are released by the cloud when harvesting it are seperate from the Drone damage and need a very high thermal resistance on the harvesting ship. These are only released when harvesting the cloud.
