Summary

1. Currently, if you double-click the entry (avatar/name) for another pilot in any chat channel (or in mail, etc) EVE automatically tries to create a private conversation. Frequently (mostly?) this is not what is intended by the pilot as most times they are wanting to view the "show info" on that pilot (may be a red coming into system, whatever) and the last thing they want to do is talk to them and attract their attention! We propose that an option is added to the [ESC] menu, allowing the pilot to select the default action that should occur when someone is double-clicked. Options to be:

• Start conversation (as current)
• Show info
• Add 'show info' link to active chat window

Potential Solutions

• Create option to permit alternate action to be set (if not possible, change default to 'Show info')
  • Pro: Reduces likelihood of pilot error making for better gameplay
  • Con: Requires coding
