Dark Taboo is an alliance that lives in the northern part of the Catch region. It is friendly with Sylph, CVA, and CVA holders although it is independent of both. 

History

Begun in 2007 as friends of Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate, its goal was to create 
a capitalistic utopia in local markets. However the demise of IAC at the hands of -A- began a dark era in BOO's history.  Just as Dark Taboo was getting comfortable in its new 0.0 home it found its biggest ally utterly destroyed. At nearly the same time an internal coup almost successfully ousted Playboy Enterprises as executors. However ultimately the coup failed and the instigators kicked out. The split in the alliance essentially began a fail cascade and Dark Taboo was left with almost no active player base. It had lost two of its three systems in a deal with Sylph to help remove the renegades from the area. 
Beginning in late 2008 Dark Taboo started getting itself organized again and poised to make a comeback. It began by recruiting individuals for Playboy Enterprises and eventually recruiting whole new corporations. The process was long and slow with many setbacks. Politically pigeonholed as a CVA holder and caught between two power blocks (CVA and -A-) limited its options. After building its numbers some it made an attempt to gain sovereignty in the Immensea region following the demise of United Legion. The attempt was ultimately a failure however it re-energized Dark Taboo which began a long process internal development. 
In recent history it has been a prime defender of the Northern Catch area, particularly since the slow demise of Sylph. It has helped Sylph and CVA in the fight against -A-/Ushra'Khan throughout Catch and Providence.

Profile

Dark Taboo is a multi-racial alliance of pvpers, manufacturers, miners, researchers, inventors, explorers, ratters, and traders that embodies the principles of individual responsibility, corporate accountability, and enlightened self-interest. Its mission is to empower its members through profit, cooperation, free trade, and conquest. Its culture recognizes that Eve is indeed a game, meant to be enjoyed, and the players, being real people, are respected for their time and efforts in helping Dark Taboo continue to be a strong and cohesive Alliance. Dark Taboo is a meritocracy. Participation is encouraged through rewards, decorations, and promotions.

Dark Taboo fights to maintain its independence from tyranny and terror perpetrated by any who seek to disrupt its goals or harm its members.

Policy

Dark Taboo Alliance maintains a modified "Not Red Don't Shoot" (NRDS) policy, meaning pilots of corporations neutral to Dark Taboo will not be killed on sight with some exceptions depending on the place or circumstance, such as in a war zone or its home system, X3fq-w.

Dark Taboo aligns its standings closely with CVA but not exactly. Its main enemies are Ushra'Khan and -A-, both of which it fights on a daily basis. It is friendly with the Covenant coalition that lives in its area as a branch of Sylph but remains a separate force.

The sovereign space of Dark Taboo Alliance contains X3fq-w however it operates throughout the FDR-EQ constellation.
