Summary
While the CSM has provided a platform for players to relay their concerns and ideas to CCP, the interest in the CSM has decreased as shown by the decline of people voting in the last election, and the activity on the CSM forum. In addition, there often are relatively simple questions from players, that are merely requests for information, and do not request changes to the game. These questions cannot be relayed to CCP via CSM issues and often are too small to devote a devblog to.
To counteract this, it was proposed to have more regularly scheduled communication moments. Players can submit questions to the CSM, and the CSM would act as a filter and relay the most prudent ones to CCP. CCP can then publish their answers at regular intervals.
With this system, we aim to accomplish the following:
- CCP is made aware of minor questions and concerns bothering players that might otherwise go unnoticed
- Increased profile of both the CSM and CCP
- Stimulates players to get involved in a constructive way and have their questions/concerns relayed
- Ability to engage two-way communication with non-forum-posters
- Players can be kept up to date without the need to publish a full dev-blog
- Less clutter on the forums (we wish)
- Use of the CSM as filter, only relevant and important questions reach CCP, improving overall efficiency
