Ascent of Ages [OLDER] was formed by Darekish & MacSver in 2006. Under Dare's leadership the corp prospered and joined its first 0.0 alliance RISE, eventually leaving due to political concerns internal to the alliance (to become somewhat of a theme).

After leaving RISE Ascent had a short spell in empire, giving rise to extreme frustration for many members, as a result the corp quickly joined Dark Matter Coalition [DMC] and moved to the drone regions. this proved to be a good home for the corp and again it prospered both ecconomically and in terms of its military might. Ascent in fact became the top killer in DMC by the time the corp left DMC due to a strong feelign that many others were not doing their part to secure the security of the alliances claim on 0.0. This proved to be an accurate assessment as DMC fell soon afterwards having been assessed as a soft target for other larger and more pvp orientated alliances.

Upon leaving DMC the corp decided not to move far and stayed in the Drone Regions as a member of the regenerated IRON alliance, this was a good home in many ways and again the corp prospered showing its capability in many areas including the killboards but once again politics were to become an issue with the apporch taken by IRON leadership at that time and the resultant culture of the alliance quickly becomming a major issue for Ascent. After many months this became unbearable and a decision was made to leave IRON and seek pastures new.

Despite an offer at that time for a spot in BRUCE the corp elected to join Cosmic Anomalies [CAN] due in a large part to the alliance comprising many old friends from RISE and co-ordinated by El'rac an ex Ascent director and old friend of the corp. This and CAN's presence in Outer Ring an area many members felt warmly towards made sure that CAN was for some time a happy home for Ascent. As with all alliances this however was not to last, CAN's presence in NPC space had for some tiem proteced the alliance from many of the worst risks of Eve's coalition based politics however as Pandemic Legion rose to power this became an issue with both PL and Razor extensivly camping Outer Ring, this pressure soon started to pull n the cohesion of CAN and once again many corps were considered not to be performing well enough in pvp leaving Ascent and a small group of other CAN corps to defend CAN's home. This situation continued for some time until an opportuntiy to take space and stations in Fade was identifed, CAN was not fit for purpose by this time as a sov holding alliance and as a result a difficlt decision was reached and a small number of CAN's corps includign Ascent leaft CAN to form a new (regenerated) allaince under the Sc0rched Earth [BYRN] banner.

With less than 200 pilots BYRN and no allies quickly took its first station in FI01-8, Once FI0 was secure and sov 3 acheived Ascents pilots once again lead the way seeking more pew pew down in Cloud ring and quickly built a strong reationship with Shade who were at that time single handedly taking Cloud Ring from its owners, this partnership with Shade soon was to become an important part of BYRN's political position. Whislt war raged nearby beteeen PL and Unnatural selection and the GBC and NC (especially Goodfellas) BYRN took the initiaitve and took the remaining stations in Fade (I-UU15, C4C-Z4 & L-C307) and for a while held Fade, durigmn this period BYRN grew to a good medium sized alliance with several corps joining and a few leaving or merging into others. Ascent played a central role in this with several key alliance leaders comming from the corp. However like all good things this was to come to an end and after a short but entertaining war Fade was lost to an assult from Mostly Harmless and Guardien Federation supported by their NC allies and BYRN withdrew to regoup in empire. A deal was struck with TCF who had followed BYRN whislt the allaince was in Fade and as part of the NC's assult on the south Ascent and BYRN moved in to take control of much of Wicked Creek. This period was marked by the departure from the corp of Darekish its founder and CEO who had reached the point of Eve burnout (in part caused by the realisation that it was currently almost impossible to prosper as a new alliance with any degree of independance from the two major factions, GBC and NC), however El'rac supported by the existing team of directors stepped up to take on the CEO's role and ensure that Ascent continued to prosper.

Currently Ascent continues to play a lead role in BYRN and the alliance continues to hold much of Wicked Creek what will happen next is anyones guess but one thing can be relied upon Ascent of Ages will be in the thick of it with guns blazing.
