History
Early years
The Draconis Family traces its lineage back to the early days of the Reclaiming, although at the time it was a very minor house.
Throughout the centuries, The Draconis Family would intermarry, buy, or use political maneuvering to gain more power. The Holders of the family would go through cycles of corruption and piousness, depending on what was more effective for their survival. The first recorded holder of The Draconis Family was Xakuur Draconis, a general in the Imperial army during the reclaiming. He came from a minor noble family, but had taken the name "Draconis"—meaning “Dragon”—after his men claimed he had the ferocity in battle of a mythical monster from ancient lore. His original family name has been lost to history.
Spread into Space to the Modern Day
When the Amarr empire started to expand into different systems, and The Draconis Family, who by that time was a vassal of the Kor-Azor heir, followed their lord to Eclipticum, eventually settling there permenantly. They continued to integrate themselves with as many powerful families as they could, especially targeting the 5 Royal families.
Politics
When Lord Vaxoc Draconis assumed holdership of the Draconis Family, it was beginning to wane. In a desperate attempt to revitalize the ancient clan, he married Lady Nadalia Kor-Azor, one of the Royal family's minor daughters. As a part of the dowry, Lord Vaxoc acquired the continent of Athror, and renamed the Draconis estate and its city after the continent. Upon his death, his eldest son, Vulxanis Draconis, was supposed to succeed him. Unfortunately, his disappearance meant that the next son would inherit the family name instead. Lord Xaiircar Draconis ruled until the return of his older brother, who exposed his misdeeds to the Theology council, and was promptly executed. Lord Vulxanis Draconis is now the current Holder of the Draconis family.
