Military MTACs can carry multitudes of weaponry like antiair and surface-to-surface missiles, railguns and plasma cannons (for the caldari models featured in the revelations novel). They have integrated shield generators and tough armor plating. In a manner of speaking, they are "walking tanks". They are not very big usually, just 4 to 5 metres in height and ideally suited to urban warfare, were they can exploit cover easily and use the enhanced mobility afforded by havng legs. Real groundhugging tanks have more mass, are tougher and pack more firepower but lack mobility.
